>>12503490Russian gamedev in early 2000 was objectively jank but interesting and full of cool ideas. Take Пepимeтp or Baнгepы for example: very strange games that, if released nowadays would be considered some kind of artsy indie gems. Ex-Machina was a great Mad Max-esque car-based TPS RPG. Ukrainian games were interesting too. GSC's STALKER was almost unplayable on release but the atmosphere was quite unique and people mod that game to this day. They also produced a lot of strategy games like Cossaks but I don't remember them to be too janky.And so on. I don't think I'll ever replay any of those but I cherish the memories.

I think Czechia deserves at least an honorary mention because of Hidden & Dangerous and of course Operation Flashpoint(ARMA).I vote FRANCE because of the steady output of stylish jank.
