Six slots for items is more than enough, 1.5x more health, higher crit chance and speed is a game changer and simply getting more shotgun shells instead of having to manage the grenade launcher and its three ammo types is just way mote convenient. The lockpick doors always have small keys somewhere nearby so it doesn't matter.

If you manage his inventory JUST right you can fit all the four emblems you need for the door leading to the garden without excessive item box visits.
