Recently saw the viral videos of Molly Moon. Eva Lemons started copying her.Curious as to which games these zoomers are parodying.Only game I recall with this exact style was Countdown (1990).I started looking at other Interactive games made after this, but the animation was smooth on consoles and PC.However, I really doubt these zoomers played that game. What games are they actually parodying?Police Quest 3? It Came from the Desert? Carmageddon 1 headcam? There may have been Windows 95 games that I think I remember having this animation style. Were people making interactive games like this with this stilt animation online point and clicks?I always found games that used live action actors in the early 90's really unsettling.Parody:https://www.youtube.com/shorts/5YVUhIBUpxcOriginal?:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiJImbnxDuY
>>12507356If her tits don’t come out then I don’t care. Thanks for the TikTok report I guess.
>>12507360the girl in the original game has only one of her shoulder straps on. stop pretending these games werent coomer bait.>big boob lady in willy beamish>legend of kyrandia falling naked into the haystackare you really gonna pretend you're some plymouth rock puritan and better than everyone on a board that has generals for 90's japanese computer games that aren't even video games but 100% coomer bait. so much so the videos on youtube always get taken down
>>12507368I’m not engaging with you. I just want you to know this thread sucks and nobody cares.
>>12507356>What games are they actually parodying? The answer is none. There's no direct reference or examples with stuff like this or most of the faux PS1 graphics games, it's all just "vibes-based." They'll see a clip or a compilation of clips while scrolling tiktok or youtube shorts or something, think it's cool, then scroll onto the next thing in less than 5 seconds. Weeks, months, or years later, they'll want to make a thing based off of the short they saw, but they don't remember what it was or what it was called and are definitely not going to do anything like looking up games or even playing them. So they just go based off their own vaguely defined memories of a 10 second clip they saw back in 2024.Things like this are going to get worse as more "people" born without souls come of age.
>>12507784that seems normal and good. humans being humanyou're not listening to your favorite musician's favorite musicians etc.usuallyI think there's a value in exploring art history and seeking out the roots of your favorite art, but evidently so much of the stuff I love was made by people who were inspired by cool art and just decided to make more like it without going out and taking a survey of prior art
>>12507784>The answer is none.Frankly, that's pretty cool that they were able to make something that felt like it would have authentically been part of an older era, but wasn't actually originally there. That honestly shows that they Get the vibe on a deeper level than someone just making directly derivative work.
>>12507356dunno, some shitty Flash game or Macromedia Director game maybe. The whole thing looks more like a Tim and Eric sketch than actually trying to imitate something real. If you want the choppy animation you could try checking out Return to Zork or Hell Cab.
>>12507990I'm 100% sure I made a thread about this somewhere on 4chan years before this trend circa 2019, that I found Countdown or some other game like it scary. I now remember someone told me that Titanic Adventure Out of Time also had the same creepy uncanny animationThank you for the suggestions. This is what I also think, there must have been flash games like this that I missed out on because I'm not a zoomer. The only one I could say is similar is USS Enterprise Two Newgrounds, but that's not live action. Or High School of the Apes by Tom Fulp.I did find some boomer girl named Harke that actually does this animation style in her videos and she's actually a fan of adventure games like pushinguproses.>>12507885>>12507909>>12507784im surprised they somehow came to that conclusion. This trend started in late 2022.I remember before this trend we had those alex jones on the sega genesis animation videos. I assumed these were also parodies because of those videos.and of course before that there was mega64 doing videos parodying myst...But I honestly think there may have been something we missed out on because we're not zoomers. Doesn't Gen Z know about Bonzi Buddy?
>>12507356Inca 2 specifically used this style. There was also two point n clicks that come to mind but i forget the names. One was with an outback aussie guy and another i think was with a surfer dude theme(possibly a 90s porn game?).Lost Eden also did it, but with drawn characters.
Is remember this video. Is it any better? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goovFvN1hnsHaven't played many point and clicks honestly.
>>12509448https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTvU_w0UdBsThank you for that find.I think this is the oldest one and best one from 17 years ago. mainly cause rocco is such an asshole
