Let's say you have to choose between these three options for all your retro stuff. You can use switchers to connect multiple consoles. You can't mod rgb or anything like that, don't be a cheeky bastard! What's your pick?Pic related is for illustration purposes.TRINITRON CRT>29inch>standard definition>curved screen>compositeFLAT CRT>29inch>standard definition>flat screen>composite>s-video>componentWIDESCREEN CRT>28inch >standard definition>curved screen>composite>s-video>component>can choose between 4:3 and 16:9
>>12508015I play with composite so it wouldn't matter much to me. Don't really care about widescreen though. I'd probably just go with the regular ol trinitron.
None, i would inject all games directly into my brain stemI trust sega VR will live up to its promises
Flat CRT.
>>12508015>WIDESCREEN CRTAutomatic disqualification for widescreen. >TRINITRON CRTBare minimum choice. >FLAT CRTThis is the only viable answer. You could play everything from NES to a Wii and it would all look great.
>>12508117>Automatic disqualification for widescreenWhat's the problem? You can use it in 4:3 mode
>>12508015Widescreen: trashFlat: take if in good condition (geometry, colors, brightness, contrast, convergence)Curved: only if the flat model is in bad condition. If you plan on servicing the TV later: Flat all the way.

Why would flat be preferable to curved?
>>12508362Between a flat tv that has s-video and component and a curved tv that only has composite what are you choosing?
>>12508015>You can't mod rgb or anything like that, don't be a cheeky bastard!Might as well say you cant make any repairs to them either.
>>12508372The curved because the flat ones are notorious for having terrible geometry.

My judgement is being skewed by the fact that I think there's no way the 29in trinitron wouldn't have S-video and whoever is selling it is just a retard and doesn't know what the port is so he didn't mention it. Unless it was made in the 80s that's way too big to be composite only.
>>12509172Op here. I have seen more 29' trinitrons without s-video than otherwise. But I think one of those would win in this particular situation.
I'd take a bubble with component if that was an option.
I'd consider the widescreen but I'd only really use it for PS3 and 360 shit. And Wii U games if I ever dust that fucking thing off again. It would just be a black bar fest with actual retro games. Not a fan of flats and the curved screen is too big to be composite only. It would definitely be the best pick if I could mod it though.
>>12509365What would you play on the PS360? I have that tv and 90% of games look bad. Not enough resolution
>>12508015Easy. Top-right.
