Conquer and unite ancient China because I suppose Capcom saw the Koei games and decided hey we can do that.
You should make a blog or something, it would be so cool.
It has nothing to do with the Koei games. Everyone falsy categorize this as a strategy game but it's a pure JRPG; also the game is based the manga Tenchi o kurau. Kudos to Capcom for actually releasing in the US though, where it got a cult following despite being a very average game and despite the manga being unknown, which imo just shows how starved they were for JRPGs. Too bad they didn't get the sequel which is better in every way.tl;dr you just proved you know nothing about the games you make threads about
>>12508815>tl;dr you just proved you know nothing about the games you make threads aboutFirst time witnessing Famibot? It's not going to care, it will just post some other "Our friends at [insert dev here] has given us a [insert franchise here] game I guess" in about an hour.
>>12508806Speaking of Capcom and Koei, I'm surprised there hasn't been a Dynasty Warriors clone yet for the Mega Man franchise. It worked for Zelda and Fire Emblem. There's a lot more to work with for Mega Man compared to those two.
>>12508848Capcom doesn't want to do much with Mega Man besides emulator compilations and maybe that one upcoming game, but that's about it
>>12508808>>12508823/vr/ has deteriorated lately, too many zoomers like these anons posting.
>>12508860>anyone who criticises shitposts is himself a zoomer shitposter
>>12508882Anyone who complains about the "Famibot" or whatever is definitely a zoomer shitposter.
>>12508806There were a lot of games about the Three Kingdoms period in China. That said, the US version of DoE has some useful improvements including an improved save system and the auto-battle feature.
they didn't localize the sequel i guess because a 4 megabit MMC3 game was expensive
>>12508806AFAIK the novel was about the Yellow Turban Uprising which was a peasant revolt, since like most such works it was written from the perspective of the aristocracy it naturally portrays the peasants as dumb cavemen just out to fuck shit up instead of addressing their actual grievances.
>>12508892The game doesn't do a bad job, of course there's no way an 8-bit game can possibly capture all the events of the Three Kingdoms period so it's very dumbed down and simplified.
I think the point wasn't that it played anything like Koei's RoTTK but rather that it probably gave Capcom the idea to make a RoTTK game.
>>12508907https://nescartdb.com/profile/view/1674/tenchi-o-kurau-ii-shokatsu-koumei-den>TNROM+battery saveThat's gonna cost you. The MSRP was 64 USD.
>>12508907Too bad, it's better than the first game and incorporated the auto-battle feature from US DoE.
>your hit points are actually your soldiers>the game expects you to assume you go to an inn and rest with an army of hundreds of soldiers and they're all magically healed/revived from the dead overnight
>>12508970The interesting thing about "soldiers as hitppints" is that onlynlou bei and the 5 tiger generals gain hp by leveling up. Other party members arrvie with fixed hp and skills and dont grow, so they naturally grow obsolete as the story progresses. When you arrive in a new area, powerful new generals can be fought and recruited, and they will be overpowered compared to your old generals, but of you grind for xp people like guan yu surge ahead.
The auto battle feature saves you a lot of tedious fights, that wasn't in the Famicom version so it would have been a lot more painful to play.
>>12508806the Mexican Runner hated this game. three very long, drawn-out videos to beat it.
>>12509070You are a useless cunt, you mention this literal who streamer in every single /vr/ thread. No one cares what some speedrunner thinks of games made before he was born. Speedruners dont even play games right, nor have fun as gamers. Their opinions never ever matter.
>>12509090NTA but TMR was born in 87 actually he played NES games as a kid so he's not like some zoomer or something. Though he would have suffered a lot less if he wasn't an autist about refusing to use the Ikari Warriors continue code because it's not in the manual.
>>12508848Capcom sued Koei Tecmo over the concept of expansion discs that read the original disc (and won) so you're likely never going to see them collab ever. Hell, Hyrule Warriors was a huge Zelda love letter and the only things the Capcom titles get referenced with is the Oracle game seeds as fairy food and King Dinner whipping out a kinstone for one animation.
