What do you do when you can't beat a final boss? Do you just give up and file the whole thing away forever. I feel retro videogames are too difficult in general.
>>12509921i actually gave up on megaman x2 because I couldn't beat sigma
>>12509921Git gud, zoomer.
>>12509921Are you kidding? This is the easiest Dracula by far. Also protip if you suck: you can grind candles to power up by going back & forth in the screens before the boss
>>12509921why would Dracula have vagina dentata?
I have never given up on a game due to difficulty, only boredom.
>>12509921Just use save states
>>12509921I don't remember this guy being particularly tough. People overexaggerate Dracula X's final boss too.>>12509926That guy can go to hell. I think I had two slivers of health left when I beat him last playthrough
>>12509926Did you collect all the Zero parts? That let's you conserve resources. He's really not too bad after you figure him out. If he disappears wait a second and dash away, for the 5 energy balls thatbtarget you dash to the wall, climb it and dash jump off. For every thing else dash jump onto the wall and dash jump off of it. You just want to try to get him hom on the edge of the room so you have more time to react. Use his weakness. 2nd form is easy as long as you have enough health to endure the final phase of it. It just takes a long time and the previous fight was intended to make you use all your sub tanks.
>>12510023>>12510027you had a perfectly fine post but you just had to bring up an eceleb :/
>>12510030Dodn't mean to doublepost, 4chan is being weird. And it's okay he's retro.
>>12509921Nigga this is an easy Dracula fight. Just stack up enough subweapons (boomerang or axe work fine) and hit him while keeping him distant so that you can easily avoid his projectiles or jump over the fire of the second phase. Third phase is a joke as he's literally falling apart at that point.
>>12509921Heart of darkness last section made me use save states.
>>12509921i give up and pretend i've beat the game. dont need a you won screen anyway, i play for fun.
>>12509926Was it his normal body form or that final wireframe head form? Weirdly enough I was able to beat MMX2 before I could beat MMX1 (and I could never beat MMX3).
>>12510161>could never beat mmx3That mech suit part is fucking bullshit because there are unavoidable attacks and you have to shoot him right in the head while there's a 50/50 chance he'll just start hovering and you won't hit him at all. Some of the bosses are fucking ridiculous unless you cheese their weakness. Some of them don't help much at all, Blast Hornet is completely nullified by the gravity attack, Byte still kicks your ass regardless of what you use, that dragonfly boss is one of the easiest boss fights in any game ever. I dontneven know his weakness cause I never tried anything but buster.
>>12509921IIRC, this only happened once playing Robocco Wars on the famicom. The game's easy, but the final stage is a giant maze and the boss is way too hard. The worst thing is that if you die you lose all your powerups so you're better off starting the game from the start. Years later I used save states and had my revenge.
>>12510161>>12510161>there are unavoidable attacksNah they're all avoidable. You're supposed to jump over him and dash under him when he's floating, not to just stay in front of him where you barely have any space to manouver. What's actually difficult about that boss is hitting his weak spot with the absolute dogshit X3 arm upgrade. That alone makes the fight ten times harder.
Walk away from it. Sometimes you need time away from a game.
I gave up on Actraiser's final boss rush because I had used all my magic up on previous battles and was not expecting to fight everything all over again in a row. Restarted the game when I came back to it, and saved every magic cast for the boss rush.
GIT GUD
Play modern games instead and accept you'll always be a tertiary casual
>>12509921Every 5 or so years I play Ecco 1 all the way through without savestates or cheats. I can get through Welcome to the Machine no problem but I've never been able to beat the final boss.I refuse to look up guides or watch videos.I refuse to savestate at the start of the final boss to practice and learn how to beat it.I refuse any and all help.Even after being diagnosed with a potentially fatal illness and knowing that I might actually die without ever beating it, I still refuse. If I'm ever going to beat it, it's going to be legit. Otherwise I just don't deserve to see the ending.
>>12509921If I'm having fun fighting the boss, or at least making some kind of concrete process, I'll keep throwing myself at it and try to overcome it through sheer force of attempts. If I'm not having fun and making no progress, and I don't actually care that much about the game, I'll just drop it. There's no point in forcing yourself to go through a miserable experience just for bragging rights or as an expression of spite. You'll be much happier in the long run if you just move onto the next game.If I'm not having fun, and I'm not making progress, but I really care about the game and I love it EXCEPT FOR this one FUCKING BULLSHIT final boss fight, I'll see if I can get some hints that will point me in the right direction without giving the solution away, and if I'm still helpless and miserable after that, I'll look up a guide.
>>12510351>tfw stubbornness is keeping anon alive and he might croak if he manages to beat that boss
>>12510351Based. I still haven't beaten BG&E, I've been dragging it since literally childhood because I never understood how to beat the boss. I replayed the game countless times as a kid and once as an adult (getting stuck even earlier this time kek). I still don't know how to beat it and if my version of Jade never got to figure it out, then so be it.
>>12509921I once tried over a thousand tries to beat an stage in one game, at the end I was able to beat it once, but it took me weeks
>>12509921Just play the Japanese version in this case.
>>12511013>if my version of Jade never got to figure it out, then so be it.This is the most realistic way to play vidya. Sometimes heroes fail.
