It's bad.>Forgettable story>Huge part of the game is time wasting shit running back and forth>Last few dungeons have those maze "puzzles" that are so fucking dogshit and a waste of time>Encounter rate so high you spam a consumable item to lower it and still end up overlevelled>battle controls are garbage unless you use an item slot>every boss fight becomes "spam the same spell as fast as possible to stunlock the boss", 0 strategy.>Normal battle just become spamming the same 2 attacks >Food system is stupid, pain in the ass and then a non factor lategame>"Puzzles" that are just a trap to get you to buy a guide. Move 2 random boxes to random locations, no logic at all and get a good item>All gear is higher number = better (to the point there is an auto equip button)>Party member AI is fucking RETARDED and useless, better off just using them to spam spells>Game full of developers trolling you. In the original game the questions are about Tales of Phantasia, but that one didn't officially release in the best until the GBA port so they changed it to stupid ass questions about games nobody had played like Pacman 2000 Vol. II or whatever the fuck.

>>12510072I loved that game more than just about any other PS1 rpg there was. Enough that the copy I rented had a scratch that prevented getting further so I went out and bought it. It and Phantasia are the only ones in the series I like though Eternia/"destiny 2" was one of the biggest disappointments I have ever had when it comes to games, it's up there with Grandia in that regard. No clue what you mean by needing a guide though. I never used one.
I remember almost nothing of it, granted I played it almost 20 years ago. The only thing I remember is that the protagonist doesn't choose the best girl (worst part of the game).

>>12510072The funny part is that there's a remake of this game which fixes virtually all of your mechanical complaints and is pretty fun to play but kept the fact that the latter half of the game is running around between nearly identical dungeons made to waste your time. If you're going to remake the game and put so much effort in to fix it up, why not try to differentiate the sky dungeons?
