Is FFXII any good?

It's neat in some ways. It has some nice music and visuals. It has booty swishing around. But it becomes such a slog after not very long at all. I beat it in uni in the '00s, in short bursts. When Zodiac Age came out I tried playing it in long like I normally play FFs and I couldn't take it anymore after Raithwall's.

I'm replaying right now, it's been 20 years since I played it. Still love it to death, there are some good mods you can get for the Zodiac Age, mainly the rescaled PS2 textures that actually look good instead of the trash Square put out (which are basically the same overshapen garbage that Capcom did with RE Remake).

I could write off FFXI and X-2 being shit because they were just glorified spin offs but when this came out it was the most disappointing release of all time by a large margin and looking back now is probably the reason I stopped being into vidya as a whole around the end of gen 6/gen 7. It was the death of FF and somehow I knew it was never coming back (how right it was). Whoever decided a fucking boring MMO chore simulator was a good basis for a FF deserves to be fucking shot. Whoever wrote these shitty forgettable characters and story deserves to get raped. Whoever designed these endless copy pasted sleep inducing fields and dungeons deserves a fucking gas chamber. Absolutely shit game in every aspect and anyone who defends this fucking disgrace is immediately on my disregard completely list.

WoW took years to become a cult hit, its took 2 years for WOW to hit a million copies sold, but it did eventually take the throne from everquest by 2007. Wow didnt start as a fortnite phenomenon of casuals, it took half a decade to become that.

It's a fun game, if you like exploring the world and doing hunts. If you just want to do the main story, it's not that great.I've noticed that most people who say FF12 is their favorite, aren't really that into other FF games.
