>>12515840a bit less. astrocade arcade board had an extra sound chip and each game could have its own boards for graphics, ram, rom, another sound chip etc. whoever designed it planned for it to have some way to expand the system. similar thing with the home version but cost reduced by a lot. ambitious for the time. a chad system for chads.
