>>12514945Op is making random shit up.I lived this era and owned a genesis at launch. Moonwalker was dismissed as a movie game, to a really terrible kids movie that was so bad theaters didnt even want it as the christmas novie that year, and it was forced to go direct to video the following year. The arcade game was just ok, showing up at mom n pop convenience stores and was never a draw at real arcades. The genesis version was mostly ignored until the 21st century, where hipsters found the game to be "charming and ironic lol" and steamers on youtube picked up on it. The actual games that mattered on genesis for its 1989-1990 launch window were golden axe, tommy lasorta baseball, golf and ghouls n ghosts. It was GnG that was most commonly seen as the playable demo game at the malls in 89-90. The game that moved the most consoles by far ended up being madden when it arrived in 1990. Madden was the game that cemented the genesis as the must have sports console, which was the biggest market in the gaming industry until sf2 landed.

>>12515887It was the game shown in tv commercials and magazine ads. Not pretty by todays standards but it was indeed a core launch title that turned heads.https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ma8DEFlyYZM&pp=0gcJCU8Co7VqN5tD
