Did anyone else have this autistic obsession during childhood with discovering secrets in retro games as a kid? i had it with Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64 i always tried to explore every last detail to discover new characters tracks or levels in the pre internet era all sorts of rumors circulated games seemed to hold secrets as if there were no limits this happened to me in the 2000s when i was a kid the every copy is personalized meme didnt exist yet but retro games sparked that intrigue that curiosity to explore something i dont feel with current games i always believed that developers were hiding things secrets and i always tried to explore every area every detail did anyone else had the same autistic obsession?

Everyone did but now such thing is dead because if you're an adult you know how videogames work and why such secret don't make any sense and if you're a zoomer you will check the wiki

Yeah, I know. I used to think there was some way to drive inside Peach's Castle in MK64.

I read in a magazine that in Mario Kart 64 you could access Peach castle you needed to use mushrooms and go towards the castle gate to enter another secret was supposedly on the Kalimari Desert track you had to chase the train to get a shortcut and in Bowser castle you freed Marty i miss those kinds of rumors in today games you have no idea how many hours i spent trying to unlock Luigi in Mario 64

You also have an autistic obsession with not using punctuation.

The videogames that released in 1996-1999 were fucking awesome and had way more interesting secret shit that was actually hidden than anything before or since. You're noticing something perfectly understandable.

Unlocking Luigi in Mario 64 would have been the greatest achievement of my life and in Pokemon Red and Blue i also spent hours investigating secrets

Looking for secrets was second nature to any real player back then

Playing without guides without internet without researching anything without watching trailers everything was so much better
