For me...it's Black and White, but I'm not sure it's retro. So if it's not, Creatures series.

Out of Molyneux's games I'd say Dungeon Keeper but in general I prefer Sid Meier's stuff.

SimCity 2000 is a comfort game for me. And it has just the perfect level of complexity, as someone who mainly prefers action games and isn't too keen on delving into super-deep sims.
