>A game like this releases in 2003
>A few people play it and enjoy it. Most people give it a 6/10 and move along to the next title.

>A game like this releases in 2026
>HOLY FUCK MAN THE HARPOONS!!!! WE'VE GOT A RACIST GAME PUBLISHER TO CANCEL ON THE TWITTERS!!!!1!!1!!!
>RAAAAAAACIST!!!!!1!!1!!!!1!!!

This game was fun and I enjoyed it as a kid. It's a shame that game devs could never produce something creative and experimental like this ever again, due to "modern" political climate.

Did any other /vr/ anons play this game back in the day? Did you enjoy it? Did you think this game was racist back then? Or is it overblown?

Never played it. What's supposed to be racist about the game?

>What's supposed to be racist about the game?
Just the general atmosphere. While going through the menu, you'll randomly hear voices going "HWOO HWAAAH!!" since the game is supposed to be like a 1970/1980s Chinese martial arts film. There's also a character called Shao Ting who says things like "You pray dead now!" and "You wirr roose this battre!" while you're playing.

I know, it's not a big deal. That's why nobody cared back in 2003. But you just know that the publisher would be getting "cancelled" if this game came out today.

take your sloppy Shitbox shovelware back to /v/eddit

The game was far from shovelware. It had a lot of charm and you can tell that the devs seemed to care about the game they were producing. Have you even played it? Or are you just assuming that it was shovelware?

Nta but I always thought the boss that's obviously not asian pulling the skin back on his face to make his eyes really narrow then saying; "ching chong you want 1 egg roll or 2" was always in a little poor taste, even when I bought that game used back in like 2007/2008. Back then it was still kind of okay to not respect Asians as people but I always thought it was fucked uo because one of my best friends was Asian. Like, from Asia asian, not born here and I wouldn't want anyone to hurt his feelings. But he saw that part and thought it was funny so whatever.

Agree. Back in the day, I had a friend who owned Kung Fu Chaos and me and another kid in the neighbourhood used to go over to his house after school and play it for hours. I always liked playing as the ninja character. Pic related.

I remember going over there one time and he showed me the trailer for the then-upcoming new Halo 2 game. We were so hyped, because we were already playing through the Halo 1 campaign at the time. Good times.

Yes, Tumblr and twitter ruined everything, we know

Why people make scenarios in their head to get mad at? What's the end goal?
>>
>>12520072
It was a send up of old kung fu movies from the 70's. Casual racism but done in the fun way where you can tell they actually enjoy the source material.

A year ago i booted this up to show a friend and was confused by the soundtrack for a stage playing Leonard Ninmoy's Bilbo Baggins song and kingdom hearts music, till i realized it used music saved on your xbox's hard drive.
