These genres in my opinion have the most raw, experimental creative output out of any /vr/ genre. While sometimes they don't have the best gameplay, the genre really did exploit the technology that was emerging at the time and it did produce a lot of bizarre shit.

When you're not fighting with the word parser anyways

well yeah but it's like a tough rind you have to get through to eat the delicious sweet fruit. that lord of the rings game is impressive in a technical level, and if has a low barrier for entry so you get some schizo shit going on

What LOTR game? Please tell me the name.
I love IF but I'm too stupid for most of the puzzles and once you read up some spoilers it's going to be a slippery slope.

I mean the only LOTR IF I know of is called The Hobbit and it wasn't that great, this was available for C64.

it was really good what are you on about?

It has been a long time. I still have an encyclopedia of old reviews in my head, like from 1985-90 and I think I remember the review said that the game isn't that great or at least its parser isn't amazing especially when compared to some other games like Magnetic Scrolls' stuff and so on.
Have I played The Hobbit? Not in two decades I believe.

Is LSD an adventure game?
>>
>>12521581
Yeah, it would fall under narrative exploration like Yume Nikki, Cosmology of Kyoto, Aquanauts Holiday.
>>
>>12521352
I appreciate the genre for what it did, but I don't ever want to revisit it.
>>
>>12521615
Same, especially since the kind of people that make IF are up their own asses.
>>
>>12521598
It really doesn't since the narrative is more ergodic in nature
