I know that the GB cart had very limited storage, but Kanto is just so dead in Gen 2. There's very little to do besides collect all the Kanto badges and then go face Red. HGSS did a lot to address this and added a lot more content to their iteration of Kanto.Gen 5 was the best gen because gen 6 was when the real decline began. People debate over whether gen 3, 4 or 5 is better. Nobody is debating if gen 6 is better than anything before it. Or gen 7 onwards for that matter.

>>12523551I don't know what people see in Gen 5. Is it because Masuda liked it? For me it was a very forgettable region, very linear. The story was a run of the mill "stop animal abuse!" type thing which was very popular in media at the time. This was also when they started using fursuit type designs for the starters final evos and then started repeating animal designs from Kanto because they were running out of ideas. It's not the worst region but certainly far from the best.
