Was Kenji Eno AN unrecognized auteur?
>>
Only played enemy zero

What a slog...

And the story is just an Alien rip off
>>
>>12523214
Yes and he was mocked and ridiculed by the """greats""" of the industry like Mikami for it.
>>
>>12523214
Yes
>>
I prefer Brian Eno
>>
>>12523214
No. If it weren't for him duping the ESRB and being Japanese no one would've gave a fuck about him. D in particular isn't even unique it's a diamond dozen FMV game that plagued the market at the time.

>Kenji Eno
Wasn’t he a SEGAHEAD and a SaturnWarrior? I heard he showcased Enemy Zero at some expo, and by the end of the trailer, a PlayStation logo morphed into a Saturn logo. I’m not sure if that’s true or just pure revisionism, like the so-called “Atari Shock” (who even came up with that name for the crash?). If it really happened, that Kenji guy definitely earned some respect.
Oh, and he made a videogame for blind people kek
He's badass
>>
he wa spart of the hideo kojima/hideaki anno generation that *needed* media to be deep
>>
>>12525672
As opposed to your generation, who would drown to death in a puddle

I'm sorry mtv is not my love language

>Laura.... LAURA!!
>Don't spill the spaghetti sauce LAURA!
>This entire game is nothing but cutscenes disguised as gameplay LAURA!
>You have to spin this door around using RNG until the game decides it'll let you through LAURA!!!
>>
>>12523214
No, he's been recognized.
>>
>>12527890
He made three ""popular"" works, the last one in 1999, and died in 2013. How many people do you think know about him compared with the likes of Mikami, Kojima, Kamiya, Aonuma, Toyama, Harada, Inafune, Sakaguchi, Suda, Taro, etc. ?
>>
The "D" stands for "dickgirl"
>>
>>12523230
I call bullshit unless you have proof.
>>12525171
It had some really controversial themes for the time.
>>12525206
No, he wanted to develop for the M2 but had to back down when it got cancelled.
>>
>>12528469
Taro is a meme not worth including with those legends
>>

>""popular"" works
Even with the quotations, you're really stretching the word popular there. None of the three games in the OP are noteworthy like other games of the same era. Even as a Zoomer, MGS1 and RE1 on PSX still hold up really well and are very fun games. They encourage exploration through a 3D world while telling an engaging story that motivates the player to continue through. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the "gameplay" of D is the equivalent of using Google Streetview with cutscenes in between each stop, with the plot revolving around you being the daughter of Dracula. There's nothing that encourages a second playthrough besides sheer boredom

>ywn get a Dr Katz Professional Therapist survival horror game
unfortunate

My favorite part is the knight qte where it swings a sword at her head but if you fail she gets thrown into a pit.
