Any other weird one off enemies like this? Only other one I could think of was last arm in FF4.

There's the turtle and baby Kraid in SM too.
>>

The turtle was a weird puzzle to get a power up, the kraid was foreshadowing the boss fight as well as a reference to the last game. I'm just talking about bizarre one off enemies that don't do anything.

To be fair, you had to really go out of your way to find the fake Kraid in the original Metroid.

Wasn't that Super Mario World?

I meant these things, no idea what they're called.

Oh I thought you were talking about that group of 3 boos that turns into grey blocks you can jump on.

Yoshi's Island is choke-full with those to the point where it feels like as if most of them were just shit that should've ended up on the cutting room floor but they just threw somewhere in, anyway.
Hell, even staples like Goombas only appear in a single level.

Yeah, fake Kraid was weird. I beat the game multiple times before I even learned he existed, he's in such an odd out-of-the-way place while the real Kraid is located in the area the game basically throws you into.

CV Bloodlines has 4-5 unique enemies that only appear once in this room. It feels like the level was supposed to be longer but they just slapped all the assets they had ready here.

Same with Torpedo Ted in Super mario world. Only seen in one secret level in the game.

I can think of many enemies like that.

Star Fox 64 had this hopping robot in the asteroid field level. Nothing special about it, goes down just as easily as any other enemy, and you never see it again.

I get the feeling they didn't have any real use for them, but their animation was too good to cut them out altogether
