I love the Gameboy. Don't have my original brick anymore but this GB Color got a huge amount of use. I jpretty much just keep this jap copy Pokemon yellow my mom brought back from a trip. first games were Tetris and Final Fantasy Legend which I played so much the first day I got it all I could see were the graphics when I closed my eyes to sleep.
what was the name of that fishing jRPG? it looked like Pokemon but with fish.

Playing Game Boy at airports back in the 90s was amazing. You'd see all kinds of people playing Game Boy and Game Gear, kids, teens, adults. I vividly remember seeing moms playing Tetris on Game Boy, old dudes playing Game Boy, also remember this one cool military guy who was playing Mortal Kombat II on his Game Gear and he let me and my cousins watch him play.The 90s really were a mystical magical time capsule that sadly who the fuck knows if it's gonna come back.If you told me as a kid that when I was an adult we would have magical computers on our pocket that could emulate any console I would shit brix but nowadays I just see people lifelessly scrolling on instagram or playing casino slot mobile shitgames.The mystique of playing a video game outside home is completely gone, despite what we imagined it would be.Sure I still play some retro games on my phone (RPGs mostly as touch controls suck for action), and I'm grateful for the convenience, but every now and then I like to bust out my old DMG and play some real retro on the palms of my hands
