The game it had based on this thing, Lights Out. It's the only one I remember seeing advertised frequently.

was looking up game.com and whoa never heard of this other system from Tiger

>Start, select, and pause buttons.
>Dual light switches for face buttons, with the off button placed precariously a few millimeters to the left.

This is the most retarded controller design I’ve ever seen.

It's essentially just a Tiger LCD game that projects the image onto a lens, so the gameplay isn't very deep. In fact, aense the screen is on the small side, you have even less to work with.
It pretty much just exists to cash in on the hype the Virtual Boy (theoretically) had.

I remember some sitcom episode where a kid copies off someone else's test and then finds out that they flunked anyway because the person they were cribbing from didn't know the answers either. That's what Tiger ripping off the Virtual Boy reminds me of. They made a knockoff version of a product no one even wanted the legit version of.

>elementary recess trolling the younger kids, pretending to experience hyper realistic virtual reality with a fucking R-zone but refusing to let them try it because lol too dangerous

Prob the most enjoyment anyone ever got out of the R-zone desu

If you replace the screen with one that works, are any of the games actually good?
>>
>>12527152
No, they were LITERALLY all ports (shitty ones) except for some games based on TV gameshows.

iirc there was also a SOTN game in development that never got released.

I had a chance to buy one of these at a retro game convention several years back but didn’t. Did I make the right decision?

has your life gone awry as a direct result of not owning a shitty dead on arrival handheld?
>>
>>12527649
It has not.

It was pretty cheap, and I almost pulled the trigger but didn’t because I didn’t need another bit of clutter taking up space. I’ve just always wondered if there was anything worth playing on it, some kind of hidden gem, or if it’s genuinely pure garbage.

I've done the same thing occasionally, buying shit just because it was novel and cheap at the time, especially pre-eBay.
I still have an Odyssey2 in box that I bought on the early '00s despite not having grown up with one, or having much of an idea what was on it. It's neat to mess around with, but not something I'd miss if I had to sell it.

They can be emulated on MAME. I'm sure the games are more playable that way.
