>3DS game made a decade before the 3DS launched

and before anyone gives me lip about "not retro", the original launch was for Windows XP and therefore qualifies for the 'pre-2002 platform' requirement for the board. if a GCN game from 2004 qualifies then so does this

Your thread premise is bizarre. This game is better known for its PSP port which released 10 years before the subpar 3DS port. I don't think anyone here would contest that it's considered retro because yes it originally released on PCs in 2004, like most of Falcom's older games.
>>
You could just had made a thread talking about the game but now all you gonna get from me is being called a niggerfaggot.

I've picked up bans for dumb subjective interpretations of what constitutes a 'retro' game before. simply covering my bases.

my point was it has that particular 'Nintendo' vibe to it rather than a PSP vibe. blockier graphics, overtly kiddy design. the PSP and then the Vita was more marketed as the 'mature' handheld.

Possibly the worst OP I've seen all week.

I knew it was originally on XP PCs because I remember there was a free benchmark you could download for it. I recall there was also a benchmark for a PC game called Yumeria around that time too, both Japanese-only. I recall that Yumeria benchmark gained some popularity because of videos showing how it apparently didn't play nice with some GPUs/drivers resulting in the character models all being stretched like their faces/limbs were melting.

Anon that's fucking retarded. You should keep that kind of thing to yourself until it shrivels up and dies.

Is anyone else getting a 'Nintendo' vibe from this game? Kinda feels like a 3DS game before the 3DS even launched.
>>
>>12526798
didn't reviews from the time actually say that felt more like a Nintendo game?

>PSP game
Not retro

Facetious greentext aside, Katamari Damacy is legitimately one of the best games on the Playstation 2, and arguably the best game on the entire platform, though there are definitely arguments to be made for other games.

Why? Because it's not a JRPG?
>>
>>12526798
First of all, not retro.

Second, no, not really. The game felt very Playstation to me, felt exactly like the kind of games I would see from Sony in the PS3 era, didn't feel like a Nintendo game at all to me.

Except for those two fucking bear and cow levels...
