anything that adds a new way to play and enjoy retro gaming adds to the preservation of classic games, whether fpga, system on a chip, an officially released classic collection, emulation, etc. you don't have to buy every single option, just play the way that works best for you.

People can just emulate or use one of the hundreds of retro devices available in all shapes, sizes and construction qualities.
