Parakarry used to be my favorite Paper Mario partner because he felt like a killer jack-of-all-trades with a really strong single target aerial attack unimpaired by enemy order or the ceiling and shielded from spikes. Amazing combo. Unfortunately I didn't see the value in Goombario's raw damage output that only needed to be supplemented by Bombette's armor penetration for enemies that couldn't be flipped. I'm playing the tTYD-like mod on hard mode and the enemies are given more health, which basically means I needed to learn to play the original game more efficiently, and I'm noticing that Paracarry's role I supplemented a little better by either Bombette or Mario himself. After beating Tubbla Blubba, it feels like most the problem enemies in the back can either be paralyzed by Lullaby or an item, or overpowered by a Mario jump move. I remember playing the game with Spiky Shield on as a child, but I feel like I'm not really going to need that anywhere again until maybe Speak Guys in Chapter 5 and Koopatrolls at the end game.

Let's have a thread talking about party members that you like to use despite usefulness.
>>
S Tier: Watt, Bombette, Bow
A Tier: Parakarry, Sushi
B Tier: Goombario
C Tier: Kooper, Lakilester

What does Watt do that's so good?
>>

His basic attack pierces defense and uses no FP and can attack anyone on screen. His attack boost on Mario is good if you're using it along with Mario's jump charge badges if you're trying to obliterate a boss with power bounce. But yeah mainly it's his basic attack being free and always doing consistent damage. Only enemies he can't damage are fire enemies because they burn him but those are pretty rare.

Kek same exact thing happened to me in TTYD as a kid:
>think Koops was strong + useful as fuck
>think Bobbery was the best partner in the game
>totally unaware of Goombella multi bonk
>totally unaware of yoshi

Man I just played PM64 and I liked it a lot, but all of the partners felt kind of bland. I like the big tittied Ghost woman and lightbulb the most though

I liked Kooper the most because he's cute. wish we got a full grown yoshi partner before the series went to shit

the big titty woman was in TTYD. but yeah, she was absolutely great in the pit of 100 trials with her defense piercing drain attack

I like Kooper too, but it's kinda funny how many bosses he literally can't even hurt.

right, mb

kid me also thought that about Parakarry
after playing through the hardest difficulty on the ttyd64 mod i felt like i used watt and Sushie the most with a side of bow
i think i like Sushie the most personality wise

Do you feel that Parakarry would still be as useful as you remembered him being if you played the normal game again, as opposed to a mod?
