wats the best hdmi solution for this

Insert your balls into the DVD tray.

I'm sure toy find a cheap adapter. Ps2 480i content looks really bad on modern displays though. Might wanna look for retrotink or something if you don't want it to look terrible

fpbp, I used to do this back in the day

The best HDMI-exclusive solutioin for PS2 is to get a kit like RetroGem and install it. It's not as feature-rich and compatible as a Retrotink solution, but it is a straight HDMI solution.

I personally use the RetroTink 5x and have been very happy with it for years, with the key being the firmware updates that filter out noise from Component cables. Even on darker shades of grey on the entire screen, there is no visual noise which to me is the reason I'd bother getting an HDMI kit at all.

>boughted the 500$ hdmi ps2 adapter recomended by the Youtube man
>it looks like this
dont fall for it op

ps2 looks like dogshit through a converter. either use a crt/a flat screen that has composite or just emulate
>>
>>12528895
PC emulation.
Native hardware wasnt built for 1080, and will never look good no matter what you do.
Emulator wont look good either, but it is free.

Retrotink 4k

Do you have any sofware that is 480p compatible? This looks like an interlacing issue.

PCSX2 + Shaderglass
>>
>>12529138
That's the one.
PCSX2 has an internal resolution upscaler built in, not just display resolution. It'll never look perfect, and it works better on some games than others, but the real PS2 can't do it.

>the best
Digital-modded HDMI PS2 running to a PC with a capture card, displaying that video as GPU passthrough, with CRT shaders applied by reshade.

gbsc mogs

OSSC Pro is the best solution for the price. Better than Retrotink5x, and Retrotink4K costs twice as much for extra features that 99% of people will not use
>>
>>12528895
"Best" solution will cost you $1000 in top end cables and peripherals.

Or just spend $40 on chink retroscaler2x and cables, which is lagless and will convert component 480i to hdmi 480p which most displays handle well.

the cheap HDMI ones don't do 240p for the ps1 games.
Honestly I think its a fools errand trying to make the ps2 look good on an HDTV. it doesn't even look that great on CRT.
>>
The retrotink 5x is great . The 4k is way too expensive. You can do 1440p with the 5x anyhow

>retroscaler2x
For PS2, forget it. You need motion adaptive deinterlacing, so the best cheapest option is a GBS-C Pro. Regular GBS-C is decent, but it’s has a borked clock generator and requires you to control it through some shitty phone app. The Pro comes with remote, has S-video and composite inputs, and is about the same price or even cheaper (and maybe has the clock generator fixed but don’t quote me on that)
