It plays a little slow but it still feels fine, and actually if you try overclocking CPU it plays way too fast and is way harder (good fucking luck with Level 3 at full speed). Star Fox 64 is still overall better but the SNES entry is really solid, the music is fantastic, the geometric artstyle is nice, and honestly I love the pacing without any all-range sections (or the tank/submarine)Definitely worth playing even if you already played Star Fox 64 extensively
>>12529338Zoomers hate anything that isn't safe retro, it doesn't matter what they think.
>>12529346wtf is safe retro?
I think they're just indifferent to it like 99% of the population. It's an early 3D rail shooter that doesn't run terribly well or look especially good to modern eyes.Even if a game is good, it's not like people are obligated to play it. A zoomer is looking at all of these older games and picking whatever looks most appealing to them. It's technically impressive for the time and platform, but mostly a curiousity to those who didn't grow up in that era.
Rail shooter is just not a popular genre regardless of age
this game to me was basically just obsoleted by starfox 64
>>12529338SF 64 is a straight up remake. Just about any fx chip game was a prototype waiting to be made on a better system
>>12529354Mario 64, Doom etc.
>>12529453Sounds more like popular than safe
>>12529354The opposite of Poy Poy, the least safe retro game.
zoomers hate it because they need constant dopamine and scripted spectacle. star fox snes expects pattern recognition, spacing, and patience.64 turned the series into a theme park ride for people who clap at voice lines.
>>1252955764 is deeper than the SNES game though
>>12529557I got it when it first came out. Loved it, it blew my fucking mind. After not playing it since the mid 90s I played it again last year, on my original childhood copy and SNES. And I'll be honest, I dropped it after 2 levels because of how choppy and slow it is. I'm sorry.https://youtu.be/8id651PS7kU
>>12529338I am a zoomer and it is my second favourite game on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
>>12529557Soillenials constantly felate SF64 as some kind of untouchable god game safe from any criticism.
>>12529338I used to love this game, but the last time I tried playing it I couldn't deal with the framerate. If any game is badly in need of a decomp, it's this.
>>12529338Its a tech demo. 64 is much better.
