Can we have a thread for old retro gaming ads?

Weird seeing a Rayman ad in a November 1994 issue of Game Pro. The game was marketed as a jaguar only release for fall 1994. Even though the game was clearly delayed and released in September 1995 for the Playstation, Saturn, PC and Jaguar.
It's honestly rare to find ads for this game.
>>12533006Fact: This is the exact same Jacket Michael Jackson was seen wearing on a visit to Sega of Japan (pretty sure it was SOJ) to test play Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
>>12533006>>12533012the letterman style S jacket was a raffle prize given away by Software Etc. Did Michael contact the people who made the jacket to get one for himself? Did he win the Software Etc. prize? It is the same jacket , complete with Sonic the Hedgehog arm patch.

>>12530150The image that OP posted is a 4-page fold-out poster that was included with various gaming magazines just before the September 9.9.95 launch of the Playstation 1 in North America. It was mocking Sega's "Head for Saturn" magazine campaign.
Bee Prepared.
Honestly, LJN had some great advertising.
The NES Top Secret: Golgo 13 game was pretty popular back in the day. Most people who bought this didn't even know what GolGo 13 was, and just thought of it as a generic James Bond like game.
>>12533215>free golgo comiccool
>>12530150Ads used to be BASED.
>>12533217>>free golgo comic>coolThat actually was a neat give away. I wonder what the comic was like? I would imagine a story taken from one of the Manga's and colored?
>>12530359It's basically all they ever did. You go back and look at all the exclusives during the Playstation brands height, and you realize almost none of them are made by Sony themselves. This really came back to bite them in the ass later when during the seventh generation PS no longer had the whole "Cartridges too expensive to manufacture" or "Free DVD player included!" (combined with a massive head start release date) to make themselves the only game in town. Nintendo may have "only" had exclusives but at least they could never lose them, because they actually owned them.
>>12533215>>12533217The Free comic looks like this one, "The Impossible Hit". Which is the first issue in an English localization of the original Japanese manga.
>>12533107I remember seeing this one as a kid. Terrible ad; they should have had a painting of a scene from the game where the hero fights a monster or something.
>>12533529Mystic Quest had some weird advertising.
>>12530359Here's an old GIF they used when looking for people to work on the PC port. I found it years ago when I was skimming old so-to-be-lost Angelfire pages.
>>12533216>all the quotes are praising the game>ad's tagline is "trust no one. play it yourself"...so they marketed it as a bad game?
>>12533754>>>12533216 (You)>>all the quotes are praising the game>>ad's tagline is "trust no one. play it yourself">...so they marketed it as a bad game?I dunno... in 1994 the phrase 'Trust no One" was really popularized by The X-Files. It was part of the season one finale with Deep Throat saying it to Mulder. It became part of the pop culture zeitgeist for a while. I dunno if that Earthworm Jim ad decided to throw it in because of the games space theme? It was a thing.
