This game debunked Mario.
>>12531054Dreaming about a magical non-binary fairy means you're a fucking faggot lmao
>>12531054They're a succubus
>>12531139It's a non-sexual creature, like Michael Jackson.
>>12531054It means you gay
>>12531939this. did you wake up with a boner? Don't answer cause I'm not gay and don't want to know.
>>12531074No, but it was one of the Big Three of 1996.Modern history revisors and zoomers are seething
>>12533210Mario 64: The most anticipated game of 1996. No question. Quake: The most anticipated PC game of 1996. Nights: Into Dreams: The: "You skipped Sonic for this? What the fuck is it? A game about a Cirque du Soleil flying jester that fly's through rings? IK, I'll give it a shot, Sonic Team.. but what the hell?" NiGHTS confused almost every gaming magazine outlet in 1996. Nobody knew how to market NiGHTS. Not even Sega of America. Some Magazines would use headlines like "Sonic team's new Mario killer" or some nonsense like that. It was very left field for a system that needed some mainstream hits. I honestly think Sonic Xtreme was a far more anticipated game, before it fell apart and became an unmanageable delusion for team working on it. Crash Bandicoot was a surprise hot that was shown at E3 1996 and blew up for Sony, in sales. Tomb Raider was a sleeper hit. Wasn't highly anticipated, but exploded in sales. Resident Evil was a surprise hit of early 1996. Duke Nukem 3D was also another runaway hit of 1996.
>>12533507You're wrong
>>12533682>You're wrongyeah, because NiGHTS really saved the Saturn from failure, and took off as Sega's next big franchise...
We already have two other NiGHTS threads.
>>12531054Depends. Are those wet dreams? Nightmares? Both?
>>12531054It means you're a straight white gigachad Sega enjoyer and sex haver.
Half of the standard bosses in this game are incomprehensible bullshit where I felt like I won purely οn button mashing. The other half are top tier and fun. I never unlocked the final stages because I'm a scrub who couldn't manage better than an E on most stages.
>>12533507Agree. Nights just isn't a game that's going to be appealing unless you give it a try, and even then you might only find it appealing if score attacks are your thing.Only reason why people gave it attention was due to how it was made by Sonic Team and it was supposedly going to be the long awaited next big thing from Sega, otherwise it would've been even more obscure.
>>12533842I'm not using modern youtuber logics ("saving" etc), I'm just saying, NiGHTS was a well liked game, and youtubers ans your astroturfing won't change the past

>>12535624>I'm not using modern youtuber logics ("saving" etc), I'm just saying, NiGHTS was a well liked game, and youtubers ans your astroturfing won't change the pastI'm not using any youtuber logic. As I owned the system back in 1996. I had NiGHTS. I played it on real hardware. It was from Sonic team, so of course I was interested in it. But the marketing around NiGHTS was actually really poor, in comparison to hoe Sonic was previously marketed. NiGHTS really had no mainstream appeal to pull in larger influx of users. It was drowned out by Crash, Mario 64 and Tomb Raider. The 3D analog pad was really cool, and yes has hall effect analog sticks. NiGHTS did control well with it. Weird overly arcade-y score attack game. NiGHTS was ported to the GBA, PS2 and PC? and had one sequel on the Wii that was quickly forgotten. It did get positive reviews. Sonic Team did make other non Sonic games, like Ristar. But it seemed weird to prioritize NiGHTS over a flagship title.
