What is going on with retro game prices? They went back up to retard levels again. They're sitting on literally broken items like they're properties on the housing market.
I would buy that ds lite just so i dont have to feel bad about massacering a fine condition system for a video out mod.
>>12532018Dude was trying to sell it as some kind of "special" gameboy advance.
>>12531990>What is going on with retro game prices? They're too high for poor children. Have been since before you were born.
It really annoys me when I buy bundles is just how many fucking sports games people have. Normalfag tastes literally haven't changed in decades and if the best games were decided by normalfags they'd be sports titles.
>>12532137Why do you do things that annoy you? Are you a masochist or do you just enjoy giving gainfully employed grownups a chuckle?
>>12532579Because sometimes bundles contain a good game(s) that is expensive on it's own.
Car guy here. At least with video games you can emulate. You can't download a car.Yeah, it's a shame, but it's the nature of things that are discontinued which decrease in supply as demand increases. Speculators jump on it and make it go crazy.
>>12531990All the dumb assholes are selling now and more than half of them are too stupid to even test what theyre selling or know what they have is broke so they just mark it for parts. Never take the risk on that. I deleted my paypal im pretty much done buying shit on ebay because I cant even buy it from a normal jackoff anymore.
>>12532137>>12532604Did you ever consider that people wind up with a lot of sports games by doing exactly what you do, buying lots for stuff that they do want?Anyway, most people selling bundles or lots these days are """professional""" resellers who basically pick up any game they see at a thrift store or yard sale in order to sell their overpriced consoles as "12 games included!">>12532679Ebay really does need to crack down on that shit. Selling something malfunctioning for parts is one thing, but it's at the point that people are selling actual trash, like stuff that's irreparable or otherwise completely toast.
They're not making this shit anymore. Time moves on, supply dwindles.Everyone who bought an NES back in the day and then got bored of it sold it over 10-20 years ago.Things either break and get thrown away or get funneled into the hands of collectors.Broken shit is accessible, but there's plenty of information on youtube on how to fix them so even that becomes expensive. We have these threads every week. You should know this by now.
>>12531990I was wondering how you lose the dpad on a controller like that, but then I remembered how dogshit the master system dpad was so this was an arguable improvement.
I've been waiting for the "retro bubble" to pop like /vr/ insists it will for like 10 years now. People aren't going crazy over the stuff anymore but the prices never came back down.
gotta wait for a big recession and then buy out these retro hoarders when they go broke. aint that the way.
>>12532671I know how you feel, brother. I'm also a car guy. It's a very fun hobby, but it's also one of the most expensive. Still though, some of my best memories are from driving my 1987 Toyota Celica through town with it's 3S-GE and 5-speed manual transmission back in the late 2010s, and watching people's heads turn because I'm driving a "retro" car. Good times, wish I still had that car. Pic related. Not an actual pic of my car, but that's what it looked like.>>12531990Staying on topic, I'm just glad I bought all of my retro games back in the mid 2010s, right before all the normalniggers discovered that they can exploit people's nostalgia for retro games. Back then, you could buy a copy of Pokemon Red (not CIB, just the cart, but in good condition) for $15 USD. Maybe even less if you were lucky. I built up a collection of games I never got to play as a kid very quickly and cheaply. Now people expect $50+ USD just for a Pokemon Red cart.
>>12532018Is there a video out mod available right now?
>>12531990? More and more games that blew up during covid are normalizing to pre-covid levels. Nature is healing faggot
I got into collecting /vr/ games in 2008, when GameStop was pushing all GameCube product out the door as fast as humanly possible. And of course they had their PS2 used bins full of stuff until like 2015, the games were so cheap and I was in high school in 2012 working part time so I bought all the games I could.Somehow I lucked into acquiring all the used consoles I wanted too, right before hardware spiked in value... Somehow I got a woman offloading her husband's old Sega stuff on Craigslist and I got a Saturn with 2 controllers plus a Game Gear for like $50, this was in 2016.I also lucked into finding a medical supplies warehouse that was loaded with CRTs they'd sell for $15 a pop.Times were good although my dreams of actually buying physical games were dashed by the price increases. Thankfully /vr/ got me into flashcarts/softmods and now the only systems I would consider buying are things I have no nostalgia for, so not owning them doesn't bother me.
>>12532708>People aren't going crazy over the stuff anymore but the prices never came back down.People are just sitting on them. They will wait and wait.I just want to know who are the faggots selling to places like CEX who buy the games and consoles for like less than a 1/5th of it's ebay value.
>>12532936You can consider that donation. But if you’re bothered by the store you can give it away to a charity like Saint Vincent de Paul
>>12532936>Don't low ball me, I know what I have>Mario Kart 64>the second-highest selling game on the N64, behind Super Mario 64>nearly TEN MILLION units sold>I know what I haveYes, you have one of the most common games for the N64. Yet this clown still wants $200 for it. I literally have 3 copies of Mario Kart 64 in my collection because it's just that common of a game to find.If I do ever sell them, I'll be selling them for around $40-$50 USD, which is what I paid for them. I know I could get more, but I'm not a piece of shit that just cares about money, like this clown obviously is. In fact, I've got half a mind to just gift my dupes to children or something. They'd probably enjoy it a lot more than some collector who stores it in a box and never even looks at it. Which is what I'm currently doing with them, since I usually play on emulator these days anyway...In fact, the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of gifting my whole collection to some kid. It'd be really nice knowing that they could enjoy these old games and grow up with happy memories playing them, like I did. Too bad that most kids these days have been spoiled by modern vidya graphics to be able to enjoy N64 games, and have had their attention span rekt by shit tok. And I'm too autistic to find a qtpi gf to procreate with and gift them to my own offspring.
>>12532880>Somehow I got a woman offloading her husband's old Sega stuff on Craigslist and I got a Saturn with 2 controllers plus a Game Gear for like $50, this was in 2016This is why you NEVER allow your wife/gf/any woman near your electronics. Not your "retro" electronics. Not your "modern" electronics. None of them. There's a 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance that she will know their actual value. In fact, she might even just throw them away "because they're old". NEVER let women near any electronics unless it's a smartphone or a normalfag-tier laptop, like a chromebook or a macbook or something. Those are expendable pieces of trash anyway.
>>12533002That last sentence makes me sad.
>>12532037That's actually fairy common. DS Lite to GBA conversions are a popular DIY project for broken or damaged DS Lites.
>>12532778There has been a kit for a while but i think it requires a DS lite.
>>12532769I still wouldn't sell if i went broke, i would just find some dog shit job, sell blood or collect government gibs.
>>12532137>buy game lot>keep what you want>sell anything you don't want that's worth over $20>bring all the trash games to your retro store to sell for whatever they will give youHopefully you have broken even or close to it money wise and got to keep your free or very cheap games.
>>12533167I use to go to my local pawn shop and buy a bunch of good shit i needed and also already had, then would walk a few blocks to my local game shop and trade in the stuff i had and was basically getting paid to buy the stuff i wanted for my collection.
>>12533147Where is it? Got a link or anything? Because as far as I know they're not available anymore.
>>12533103This shit kinda sucks though because the bottom screen is shittier. I guess it's better than throwing it away, but I'd rather get some cheap handheld to emulate the games still.
>>12531990atari 7800
>>12531990Is now a good time to sell then, bros? I'm in dire straights. I'm in the hole. Down on my luck. Living on a dime and a prayer. First in line at the soup kitchen. And I'm going to be out of the butt and into the fuck if I don't come up with some cash soon.
>>12533765>Is now a good time to sell then, bros? That's the other problem. Not really. I bought a console with 12 games, each """worth""" £30-60 on ebay, for under £200. The seller wanted £300 and kept reminding of the "value" I'm getting but I knew he'd listed the console bundle multiple times. There are 100s of listings where they've overvalued the item but will not budge on the price and it remains listed for months.
>>12531990People want smaller collections but with more special games. Most games are pretty cheap. What games do you even want, you can probably get something similar, eg Mario Kart 64 too much then get Mario Kart on wii.>>125326711997 buy a Surpra, doubles in value.Instead invest in stockmarket, now much more money.2026 buy a Supra for about double new cost, some other guy had to spend money 30 years for storage and maintenance. What I've learnt is that if its possibly cheaper to get a car like than to try and restore a cheap car to that condition. Same thing with some games.>>12531990When you were a kid did you always get the most expensive or did you sometimes have to buy a cheaper one. Once I got flashcarts for all systems I barely got any more games unless it was a mint pc game for $5 or if its a modern release.>>12532880An electronic store I went into randomly in 2015 had a huge stack of ps2 games for $2, sure not the biggest hit but these probably cost around $200k to produce at least, I think I got 30 new games. It all about taking opportunities.
>>12532708You have to wait a couple of decades more probably, the youngest who started on nes are around 40 now. Compare it to model trains, the majority of the train autists who love them are 75+ now.
>>12531990Is that a Sega System?
>>12532708Any normalfag who bought any retro stuff during covid, are just going to throw them in to the trash. Shit is just going to become rarer and rarer.
>>12532689>oh no, they're selling 30 yo parts on eBay that aren't working perfectly like straight from production? And I bought them WILLINGLY? HOW DARE THEY! (inceloid impotent rage increases)Why do you expect old children toys to be still in mint condition, especially used (and likely used A LOT)? You really need to reevaluate your life's priorities.
>>12532671>You can't download a car.Nobody tell him
>>12532679what risk? you are being told it is for parts so you should not expect it to work. dipshits like you buy without reading or something?
>>12533765I don't predict a huge jump in value but it's definitely not going down.
>>12531990Well the economy is in the toilet so people will be selling a lot of their shit and probably for lower prices if you just start lowballing people. Now is the perfect time to start looking to buy what you want to add to your collection, since gas and food prices are skyrocketing.
>>12532689Funny I’ve had literally the opposite experience. I’ve gotten an og xbox console and a couple n64s and a few genesis marked for parts that worked straight out of the packaging. Guess some people are lucky and some aren’t?
>>12534058>>12532689>Selling something malfunctioning for parts is one thingstupid faggot
>>12533002You should thank God you don't procreate. What would you bring into this world? >>12534458That is normal for an used toy which has over 30 years and was kept in likely bad conditions. Just repair it if it's that important and valuable to you. These pads seem to miss only one button. Truth is, you're lazy, learn nothing and want very old children toys to work as if they were new. Learn to repair some things. Obviously, there are some issues not worth investing your time into, but if you're such a "retro gaming purveyor" then it shouldn't be a problem to you. Unless you're, like I said, stupid, lazy and gullible. Then, I can only wish you luck in this nonsense endeavor.
