So I've been emulating FFT (PSX) on my phone at work and been having fun but found out they released an updated version for the switch and steam. Is it any good? I know it's largely the PSP version with HD graffix but wanted to know anons' takes on it as I never really played the PSP version either.

I like using my phone since it's not as obvious I'm gaymen and easier to slip into my pocket when I do have to do some work. Touchscreen controls are a fucking bitch though which is why I'm only using it for RPGs.

Same here. I HATE touch controls (not just for vidya, in anything) but unfortunately it's the tech they forced on us. The convenience of being able to hop into a game any time while I'm at work or waiting in line etc is too convenient. I do have a PSP I use for emulating too but at this point it's just more convenient to use 1 device only.
Of course, I also only use it for RPGs, no action whatsoever, that's only for real physical buttons

It's the PSP version but with modern Square Enix DEI censorship applied. If that sounds good to you then go for it.

It is not. It has none of the additional jobs etc. from the PSP version. It has auto saves, fast-forward and voice acting which is ~~great~~.

The game mechanics on all these turn based RPGS where it just switches to some combat screen and each character takes a turn is lame
Ultima was better you had everything stay in the same topdown view and distance and obstacles had effects on what you could do

What someone needs to do is make more Ultima like games that are hack and slash based turn RPGs… all this final fantasy pokemon shit was gayer than AIDS and when it came out originally on the consoles I always laughed at it
