I've been playing this because I loved the film as a kid... on one hand I didn't like it at first because it's filled with minigames that play very poorly, matches took a bit too long and it was difficult to figure out what was going on in the default settings. While I don't like the minigames, at least they help it feel more like the film, if you skip them it's literally just basketball, no story mode, it's got only one mode besides the standard match, which is sort of the story mode, where you have to win 5 times in a row, so lazy......however, when I turned off the awful minigames and made the matches shorter and as simple as they could be in the settings, including 2v2 instead of 3v3, it reminded me more of Arch Rivals and NBA Jam, so not too bad. Also, Lola's my GOAT, the MVP.
all i remember is that monstars were way weaker than toon squad stats-wise and also had far less players to choose.
Yeah I played it a lot as a kid on PS1.Is the Saturn version any better?

>>12533294Huh, surprised they went with sprites instead of polygons.
>>12534893Same, it's cool though, makes it feel more like a 90's NBA Jam clone, which isn't a bad thing at all, for me at least.
>>12534893The game came out in 1996, and there were other early PS1 games that used sprites, like Rayman 1, SOTN, etc.

>>12536554Indeed, they captured the characters well, the artwork and animation is one of the highlights, I just wish defending was as satisfying as in NBA Jam or Arch Rivals, but it sort of works, I guess.
