Is emulation + Crt the best way to experience ps2 games? Does it introduce too much lag?
>>
>>12533448
As long as you get rid of Hindows then yeah emulation is great on a CRT
>>
>>12533448
No
Sell the garbage GBS-C and purchase the console that you like.
>>
>>12533448
It's the best way and nobody who's ever done it has ever gone back. Input lag is a meme like rotoscopic velocodensity.
>>
At that point just buy a ps2 bro
>>
>>12535870
Nah. I have done both and prefer my OG hardware.
>>
>>12533448
If you are using one of those generic converters then it will have terrible lag since it will be doing frame buffering.
>>
What about running ps2/xbox games from an ssd? Or a summercart?
>>
>>12533452
the hell is hindows?
>>
>>12535870
i tried this way and it just felt laggy compared to playing on my actual ps2. maybe its better now that was a few years ago.
>>
Whatever works for you, OP.

I'm too autistic about PS2-specific effects to do something like that. I enjoy that sharp and jittery PS2 video signal.
>>

Windows after it got Hindufied
>>

I have an extremely powerful PC but I rather be on the couch with real hardware on my ps2, I just sat on the floor last night drinking MTN dew playing sly 1 for a couple of hours. Something about real hardware just hits different maybe it is the lack of options and choice.
The real issue is that my ps2 cmos is dead and my laser is starting to struggle.
Least on PC those aren't issues
>>
>>12536171
I am sitting on my couch and playing on my PC what the fuck are you nigger retards doing. Its 2026
>>
>>12536157
never heard of it. Surely you aren't implying he should use linux lmao
>>
>>12536179
why does it upset you that emulation is worse?
>>
>>12536179
sorry you don't understand comfy
>>
>>12536179
PC dweebs cumbersomely trying to mimic our power
>>
Steam deck is amazing on my 13" crt
>>
>>12536246
that must look like shit
>>
>>12536193
Except it's superior.
>>
>>12533448
There's like 0 point of using CRT for PS2. It makes sense in Sonic and Castlevania where the visual was clearly made for scanlines in mind but not in PS2. A lot of games have builtin widescreen mode.
>>
>>12536414
Ps2 output is already so muddy that blurring your vision even more is probably just going to annoy you
>>
>>12536414
>but not in PS2
Most 6th gen games used a low colour depth to conserve VRAM. Yeah, I don't want to look at dithering, thanks.
>>
>>12535912
no you haven't.
>>
>>12536223
what power?
>>
>>12536138
>>12536193
Emulation:
No load times
upscale to max out the resolution of your CRT
widescreen if you have a widescreen crt
60 fps progressive scan every game
better controller
run ahead if on good pc
no dithering

I have a hacked ps2 and haven't touched it because it's pointless now

"muh input lag" is the ultimate cope from ludittes grasping at straws

>>12536171
you can still sit on your fucking couch while emulating.
