I don’t know why people love, or glaze as the kids say, half-life so much. It wasn’t as good as games like quake, rise of the triad, or system shock, and even thief also from 1998 was a better first person experience. What do you think?
Wasting my time here because you're clearly the schizo who dedicates his life to "discrediting" the game, but it did a fine job making the game feel like one long unbroken adventure and actually bothered trying to make the game world make sense.
>>12534487I think once the novelty wears off it's not a very fun game. Some of the mods are cool but I guess deep down they're really quake mods since half is basically a licensed quake tc with some extra mods thrown in.
>>12534506>you're clearly the schizo who dedicates his life to "discrediting" the gameIt must be just a few people posting these threads
>>12534487>rise of the triadoh wow really?
Hi Alf
>>12534487>wasn’t as good as games like quake, rise of the triadGood b8 almost got me
>>12534553is he back?
>>12534561Maybe, but it could be Auster posing as him. Alf does his own weird shit
Fuck off
>>12534487It's the worst FPS game I've ever had the displeasure of playing. Only faggots enjoyed it.
>>12534487hi, auster!
>>12534487I don’t really ‘get’ half life either. I assume the appeal is how good it is at making you feel like you’re improvising your way through the maps. I think this is genuinely really cool but for whatever reason I don’t consider this even a top 100 game I’ve ever played.
>>12534487I had fun but I agree Quake and System Shock are way better. Half Life is so damn linear and that makes it really boring sometimes. But it’s still fun. The second one I thought was way better executed
>>12534487Half--life was accessible and cinematic. Level design was much more straight forward and linear compared to other FPSs, so getting lost is virtually impossible. Lots of scripted events and setpieces throughout that draw your attention, too.
>>12534553you get banned for bringing him up here btwpretty sure he's the one making constant Halo threads on /v/ too
