>That will be $10,000 plus fees + shipping + tariffs + tip please.

How are collectors today handling the insane prices of retro videogames? What is insanely frustrating to me is that these gen X people didn't even deserve these videogames. They were just in the right place at the right them. Our whole reality is a fucking scam where everything is arbitrary and random.

Imagine paying $10,000 for a game and then discovering that emulators exist.

Buying sealed CIB retro games is on the same level of autism as buying Pokemon cards. You manage to collect them all and...then what? You can look at them and brag to internet anons. That's it. It might even be worse than collecting Pokemon cards because you have a game that you COULD play, but will instead never be opened because you want to preserve le virgin unopenedness of the case.

>gen X people didn't even deserve these videogames
Those kids bought the games with their allowance 40 years ago. It's called time value or "theta."
>>
>>12534869
I don't care about retards selling their autism graded shit for whatever imaginary price they want.

I do care about the retards who have artificially driven up the prices of normal games for no reason.
Talking about the DS Pokemon games for example. Retardedly expensive for no reason.

This whole system screams of being a scam.
How is it allowed to exist?

it's a scam anon. tools thought they'd get rich speculating on graded games. it's all bullshit run by fucking clowns.
>>
>>12534869
The same people that run/own the grading companies just trade between themselves and call it buying/selling to increase market value. It's a complete scam.

Emerald cost 250$. If you ask anyone they will tell you "high demand" "its rare" so it was worth 30$ for 13 years then it just went 250$ out of the blue lmao

If the demand is that high, then we are cooked: if people are willing to spend that much on a useless "decoration" meanwhile everything is getting hard and harder in our day life, then humanity deserves to be wiped out

There are like 400 fucking Emerald in the US that sell MONTHLY on ebay, MONTHLY, those are scores for either handhelds or very popular game that cost 20-30$, not a fucking vintage item

covid just made people retarded. Desperate to get money from any means.
You could get CIB HGSS for $50 before covid because it was not full of starving speculation retards
>>
>>12537159
The sales volume is even higher than that if you go check sold listing on ebay. For sure if its a rare item it could get manipulated, but you can check on Vinted too ...

>Pokemon Emerald (US only) is selling like 400 time a month at 250$
>Bloodborne is selling like 300 time a month at 17$ (lol)
>Pokemon ORAS (US only) is selling like 300 time at 40$

Something clearly wrong with the pokemon nostalfag. The 3DS/Switch games are still pretty cheap. Most olders games are higher because of demand/inflation (like Alice madness return from 20 to 40-50) but i'm pretty sure Pokemon also has the "scalper/pokebro" from the TCG scene involved, trying to make buck of the nostalgia, and not just retro collector

i do think a lot of jobs were completely wiped off the face of the earth during the coof and replaced only with shit tier gig work, i'm sure a fuckton of people turned into thrift store flippers to try to make money during it but never stopped

>>12537159
It wouldn't surprise me if people are literally investing into older pokemon games, not buying them for their collection or to play them. I used to have 0 money as a kid so i used a R4 and now that i have money i "should" spend like 5x time the retail price for what?

Bro even Earthbound is cheap af in comparaison to the unit sold

there's eternal dick-sucking about Emerald/Platinum/HGSS and the DS games in general, but no one cares about the 3DS games.
it's just people constantly parroting and parroting over and over that those GBA and DS games are the best of the franchise and how 3DS and beyond games are dump, that's why XY or ORAS whatever never got price hikes.

even Ruby/Sapphire and Diamond/Pearl have dumb ass high prices despite being "invalidated" by Emerald and Platinum
