A healthy psone works amazingly. An SCPH-5501 is an amazing modding platform.

I've recapped/serviced several PSones and the results are amazing. Going from no power/no picture/no read to instant reads and perfectly stable playback and a beautiful picture.

I never had the PSone model, but I don't like that it has an external power supply and even loses the reset button in addition to the I/O ports.
