Cruis'n is too overhated of a series. They're not masterpieces, but they're not offensively bad like the reviews said. They're passable time-killers with decent visuals.

This song is really good

not sure i ever played exotica. i played the fuck outta usa/world in the arcade. the funnest racing arcade games ever. i loved double tapping the gas or whatever those special moves you could do over jumps. and the secret cars/shortcuts. it was just an awesome game and getting a free game for first place kept you playing

Since when have they been overheated. Growing up they were a fun racing game. Still remember playing USA on the 64 at a buddies birthday party and being blown away. Plus, wasn’t this series extremely popular as an arcade game? It was at every bowling alley/pizza joint/ arcade place where I lived growing up which had a city of 250k at the time.

Overhated*

They're fine but they feel surprisingly out of date and incredibly simple for when they were released.

Yeah I don't remember anything about them getting hate. All my friends and classmates loved the games whenever we went to arcades. Maybe there are YouTubers that have shit on them since then but I wouldn't know. I liked how they were sorta like the Mortal Kombat of racing with their secrets and silly vibe.

YOU GOT THE POWER
TO CROOOOOZE THE WORLD

I don't hate them, they're fun, but compared to contemporaries in the arcade, they were basically joke games, 80s racers with 90s polygonal paint jobs, that and USA's home port is probably why the series has garnered a bad rep.
Rush is the better example of western 3d racing

Korea is beautiful!
