ITT: Bong-coded Japanese games
>>12540887
>>12540887honestly mario sounds like a bong game if you try to describe it to someone
auster-coded spam
Metroid and Castlevania
>>12540928https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_Super_Nintendo_Entertainment_System_video_gamesCry more. Five of the best selling top 20 SNES games are bong coded, with most of them in the top ten. You sharts don't get a mention until pos. 23. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Not entirely topic related, I know. Just thought I'd beat you with that stick while we're here. Because, y'know, there's never a time when you don't have it coming.
>>12540973With Japanese supervision*
>>12540989>With Japanese supervision*>so, every official game released on the platform, ever
>>12540989The Supervision was by Hongkey Kongs though.
>>12541018Nah, Rare was being supervised by the japanese during development. It's not about the license, it's about the actual development.
>>12541034we have Supervision at home, mein Kind
>>12541038>muh intellectual dishonesty about company policy on censorship, etc.Yawn.>supervised by the japanese during developmentOr:>how the fuck did you do this? we haven't done this. why aren't we doing this?KEK!
>>12540887This Japanese game is basically a europlatformer, but actually good.
>>12541050>>how the fuck did you do this? we haven't done this. why aren't we doing this?Platformers with actual good controls and level design? Yeah, it was one of the rare instances of a good western platformer but again, Japanese supervision.
>>12540904Fair, though the character designs, theme, level design, and overall look of ToKI definitely feel more Bong-ish than Mario. Seriously, show this weird, ugly, displeasingly proportioned, slouching monkey-man who spits as his main attack to any gamer with knowledge of retro game development styles, and they'd immediately peg it as the MC of a British platformer. Hell, Donkey Kong Country, an actual Bongformer, is less Bong-coded than Toki.
>>12541062>more intellectual dishonesty from the industry crashing bitchNo, I'm referring to DKC's high graphical fidelity that wowed the Nintendo higher-ups. Or maybe I was talking about Argonaut. Certainly wasn't talking about any mutt devs. By comparison, their work with Nintendo during the 16bit era seems to be conspicuous by its absence.. Cope.
>>12541439Because mutts were with Sega, see: Mark Cerny creating Sonic 2
>>12541446"Yasuhara said meshing the Americans' art with art by Yamaguchi was the development's largest hurdle. Yamaguchi had to check the teams' enemy and stage designs while producing his own. Stitt called Yamaguchi, who mostly worked alone, "a machine" who spent hours reworking other artists' levels repeatedly to ensure quality. For example, Stitt felt disappointed when Yamaguchi redid his background art for the Oil Ocean level, but did not argue because he was not satisfied with the original background and Yamaguchi's was much better. The title screen and Casino Night level art were both completely reworked shortly before release."HAHAHAHAHAHAAAA! Night and day.
>>12541034vastly inferior to the Mega Duck
>>12541257He's got a Japanoid slouch to him though, but you need a degree in pre-moeblob weebology to see that. Congo Bongos don't slouch like that.
>>12540887Eggerland obviously
