>buy a replacement N64 controller
>can't even properly play the only worthwhile n64 game, Sin & Punishment

what were they thinking
>>
>>12542072
that's what you get
>>
>>12542072
no idea what you're talking about, OP
I have S&P physically, and have also emulated it, and had no trouble with this controller at all
>>
>>12542079
>right hand controls movement
no thx
>>
>>12542080
well, let's see
that's the default for Duke Nukem 64, the Turok series, and the preset most Goldeneye and PD players use
anyone who complains about it is pretty much flagging themselves as not having grown up with the N64
>>
>>12542080
>>12542072
Skill issue.
>>12542082
Basically this. This was the proper way to play FPS back then. Zoomers just can't imagine playing without dual analog. Same ones who screech about inverted controls.
>>
>>12542090
>>12542082
>hurr get used to aiming with your non-dominant hand because we were used to shitty controls back in the days

I don't think I will
>>
>>12542094
Not shitty. Just different. You're basically saying that you're too retarded to push a few buttons with your right hand, Anon. Hard to take you seriously.
>>
>>12542095
Movement has been relegated to the left thumb since the dawn of gaming
>>
>>12542072
Wirelessness is inherently soulless. There is nothing wrong with a cable.
>>
>>12542096
Yet again, skill issue. This wasn't even a thing that was debated back then. As >>12542082 said, it was the default scheme of multiple games. That means lots of players learned to play that way. You should be able to handle it if you have average level of coordination.
>>
>>12542112
Original N64 controller allowed right hand aiming. 8bitdo does not. That was the debate.
>>
>>12542114
And this didn’t occur to you prior to buying it?
>>
>>12542116
what made you think I have even contemplated buying that piece of shit
>>
>>12542117
Okay, then same question for OP.
>>
>>12542114
Irrelevant. The entire issue is that you have arbitrarily limited what each hand should do. I pointed out that most N64 owners did in fact play "southpaw". It wasn't considered as such then, only retroactively after twin analog became popular. It WAS the righthand layout. If you went to any sort of GE/PD meetup, that's how most people were playing. You can play Sin & Punishment just fine on the 8bitdo using the same scheme just fine. So in the end, it's a simple skill issue, as always. I have no trouble swapping between it for N64 and the other way round for everything else.
>>
>>12542123
>a replacement controller limiting the player to one control scheme instead of two originally allowed by the original controller is an irrelevant point

uh ok
>>
>>12542124
Yes, because one method is superior to the other, and it's built around that. You can tell all the fucking oldheads are gone now, Jesus Christ. All of this was common knowledge at one time.
>>
>>12542127
>>12542116
>>
>>12542080
that was pretty common in tons of games prior to the mid '00s, hell it didn't even go away completely in the '00s since you find many PSP games that had to do that due to no right analog stick
lots of single-stick games used the right hand for movement since the stick was better used for looking around/aiming
>>
>>12542072
That's not a N64 replacement controller, it's a Saturn 3D controller you silly
