After five minutes I got used to the controls and fog and had an absolute blast finding secrets and destroying everything. It really reminded me of a true 3D Doom more than any other FPS I've played.

>>12544043This game rocks. A surprising lack of dinosaur hunting though. It made me laugh super hard when I got to the first boss and it was just like two jeeps.The second game is also cool, but I'm conflicted on it. The maps are massive which is neat. I enjoy getting lost in them and being stuck there. My problem is most of them are teleporter mazes essentially. It's hard to backtrack because nothing is laid out like a real location. Lots of little isolated areas. Very strange. I don't think I could figure out where to go in the cave level. Or another. I'm still stuck!

The level design is boring, platforming is ass (jumping from pillar to pillar in first person perspective), enemies respawn every 30 sec so no point in killing them, you're just wasting ammo (which does NOT respawn btw). I guess it was good back in the day if you didn't have a PC for Quake.

>>12544408The plot of the game is a bit of a mess, it was clearly designed to be based on Valiant's Turok comics, but by the time it came out, Acclaim had rebooted the comics, so there was some hasty and clunky retconning to sort of tie the game into that.The guy you play as is Turok, the main character of Valiant's Turok comics, while the guy on the cover is Joshua Fireseed, the main character of Acclaim's Turok comics. Acclaim also tried retconning the guy you play as in the actual Turok 1 game into Tal'Set, another character from their comics, so it's all just a huge mess.
Turok is fucking kino.
