Any of you guys had fathers that played videogames but weren't just brainrotted sportslop normalfags? Most people I ask always seem to have generic sportfags dads but maybe the younger folks that had parents that were teens during the 90's have parents that played and still play actual videogames?

I always thought it would have been the best thing ever to have a dad to stay up late playing vidya with, or if I was just stuck on some part he could help me get past it or write some game genie codes for the hard parts. The variety of stuff he played back in the day was a lot wider, sometimes we'll talk and he'll mention having played something crazy I would never expect but now it's just whatever everyone else is on like Assasins Creed or Red Dead 2. Last slightly out of the ordinary game he played that I know of was Yakuza 0.

My dad only played Snake on his brick phone. I tried playing Halo 2 with him once as a kid but he said it was boring and stupid.
>>12544440As a kid my dad loved Sonic and Streets of Rage 2, though over time he's pretty much only cared about Gran Turismo and Winning Eleven, we still play Gran Turismo 7 and eFootball PES 2021: Season Update on our PS4 from time to time, so whenever I visit them. We did play Streets of Rage 4 for a time though, we're yet to finish still, need to play again.
