This is fun but holy shit is it exhausting, still catching my breathIs it the same exact version as the GC or derived from PS2?
>>12545996Pretty sure it's based on the PS2 version, but a residentevil-autist will have to confirm.
>>12546004It has the gamecube's graphics plus the costumes from the ps2 version. If you don't mind motion controls it is considered definitive.
>>12546004Yes the Wii's is a port of the PS2's which is ported from the original GC's. The PC versions are also porter from the Wii.
>>12546028>>12545996you can use normal controls with the wii version i.e classic controller or gc.
>Imagine flailing around like a retard instead of using a classic controller
>>12546067That is the main thing that sets the wii apart though. This would be like playing Time Crisis with a mouse.
>>12545996Brown shit: The Game
>>12546067There's literally no reason to play the Wii version if you're not using a wiimote. If you want a normal controller scheme, just play the Gamecube version.
Not retro.>>>/v/
>>12546067retard hasn't played the Wii version and doesn't know its the superior version.
>>12546295This. I REFUSE to call any videogame post N64 era "retro", years be damned.
>>12545996How fat are you that aiming with a wii mote tires you out?
>>12546295remakes are retro
>>12546029>>12546028Every time RE4 gets a port, something new is brokenGC –> Wii — Lower polygon count inventory items from PS2 portGC –> Wii –> Xbox 360 — Broken and missing effects, bad mapping conversion for ALL the models of the game, missing sound reverb effect.GC –> Wii –> Xbox 360 –> UHD — Animation and sound issues, black pickup screen, bad optimization with lots of performance issues in some computersThe PS4 version is just copy-paste of the “HD textures option” from PC Ultimate HD. Only a few extra character textures were improved for PS4/Xone.Also some enemies behavior issues if I’m not mistaken. But I’m not sure in which port…Still aside of resolution the GC/Wii and UHD with HD Project are the best versions. It has the best color palette and lightning and have bloom to the fire effects.Resident Evil 4 HD Project removes terrible looking PS2 version assets.https://www.re4hd.com/?p=5281>WEAPONS and other item MODELS: The models used for all post-Gamecube versions have less polygons than the original Gamecube version. It seems they kept (perhaps by accident?) the low-poly versions from the PS2 port of the game. I restored and even improved all of these models. There is a limitation with these models that crashes the game if the file size of certain files are larger than the original, but I found that there is some dispensable data that can be removed from the .bin files (the 3D models), and even entire .bin files that are unused in-gameJust play GC, Wii or HD Project.>https://fitgirl-repacks.site/resident-evil-4-hd-project/
>>12547095>64 bit 3D console>retro
>>12547108In this case it isn't even a remake, it's just a port.
Wii version is so kino it single handedly makes up for the space the console takes up hardly getting used gathering dust. it’s like a personal arcade game. I never tried any of the meme peripherals like the balance board but it would have been interesting to use that also for some kind of in game action as well. Maybe a quick turn command and some QTE dodges.

>>12545996I thought the controls were atrocious. Having to control the aiming screen with the nunchuk while aiming with the pointer is awful because you have to stop dead in your tracks to shoot like it's Bubsy 3D or something. The pointer should control the aiming camera too. 9 times out of 10 I'm walking forward, an enemy charges me, and when I go to shoot the camera shoots up towards the sky. I thought I would get used to it but gave up in about an hour and have never played RE4 to this day.
>>12546276The gamecube version doesn't have the ps2 version content.
>>12547310NTA but you should have stuck with it. maybe it’s not for you but it felt so natural to me after a while that I felt like the controls were a natural extension of my body. I remember after beating the game getting 5 stars on all the mercenaries maps and characters and getting so many kills on the village with enough practice that they stopped spawning after like 120 and I had to wait around for 30 seconds for the level to end. It just works.>>12547348The added content if it’s the same shit in the Wii version doesnt matter at all. Ada’s content was so under developed I would have preferred they didn’t do it at all because the quality is low enough and so lazy that it detracts from how well polished the game seems. it started off strong because of the village fight where you can see Leon running around, and it’s like they put all of their creativity into that one segment at the very start and just stopped caring. it also gives you the impression you will be able to play through the entire game which could have been cool as a newgame++ mode and I feel like I beat it in an hour or two if that. they could have made one new area for it if it was so short but they couldn’t even do that. they could have gotten very clever by having you leave supplies for Leon or have you watch him during boss fights or something which you could have taken pictures of or something because they’re a spy.Her segment could have just been a short thing of her taking the sample somewhere after the events of the game even
GameCube or ps2 version? Or I guess PC version? Which do I play
>>12547130>Also some enemies behavior issues if I’m not mistaken. But I’m not sure in which port…Any that runs at 60fps, the AI logic is tied to framerate and they are more aggressive as a result. The knife is also affected by the frame rate and hits 2x as much iirc.
>>12547838Ultimate HD (Steam version) for PC, but install re4_tweaks https://nipkownix.github.io/re4_tweaks/
>>12546030>>12546067it's funny that the game doesn't even tell you it supports gamecube controller scheme. And you even have to turn off your wiimote while booting up the game to get the control scheme.
>>12548116Yeah, doesn't it also display classic controller buttom icons even when using gc controller?
>>12546067who are you quoting?
>>12545996It's a mishmash of both the gaycube and ayystation 2 versions, with the lower overall difficulty from the later (made even easier with pointer controls). Later ports of the game use this release as it's base.
