>>12547915It's part of the roleplaying element. The game starts showing you that you will stab Kid if you hang around her, so keeping her at arm's bay isn't necessarily a bad choice. I don't think it rewards players, it just offers alternatives. For example, Glenn looks cool but is extremely bland and doesn't have a lot of plot relevance and you get him alongside Macha. Razzly is more unique, more relevant to the plot, Mel isn't half bad as a thief, and you get the Astral Amulet too. Unless all you really care about is muh Frog reference, it's not really all that black and white.

Why would anyone even save Kid? She means nothing to you in the game and you can tell her to fuck off early in the game so you don't even see her at all if you do which will make her a complete stranger. Also the only way to save her is to kill an endangered animal.Then this guy gets in a hissy fit but in his stead you get his mom in your party and even better if you tell Kid to fuck off, you get Glenn.The game actively wants you to abandon her.
