Much like music and film the gaming industry became overly corporate and ran by suits rather than creatives creating a culture where "mature" means "realistic" and "edgy" means what a Pepsi CEO thinks of it like tribal tattoos and raprock, I know zoomers are going to be mad because this is the only era they can claim "nostalgia" for but it was objectively bad

The early 90s was just the peak of creativity and aesthetics.
