>Capcom makes a whole spinoff series about the devil enemy in stage 1 of Ghost 'n Goblins going in the arc of Gameboy -> Famicom -> Gameboy -> SFC and only the second was localized outside Japan (they were going to localize the second Gameboy one but didn't)>why? don't ask me, maybe players found him cooler than a knight who loses his clothes when he gets hitIt's a very cool, well-put together title as any late Capcom NES release should be and is rated a top 10 Famicom title in Japan despite not selling anything due to its 1992 release date.
I liked that they included him in umvc3
>>12547539Huh? The first Game Boy game got localized.
>>12547550it was and that is one of the worst cover arts ever
did anyone think at first that this was based on the Gargoyles cartoon?
All 3 games were officially released in English back then. And it the 2nd game boy game isn't a new game, it's a port of NES 2.it's amazing how bots can't even find such simple information
>>12547565ewww...
>>12547635>And it the 2nd game boy game isn't a new game, it's a port of NES 2Technically an expanded port with two new stages.
>only seven postsi guess nobody has played this game
Gargoyle's Crest on the SNES did things right though it had good marketing, looked cool, was featured in magazines. I loved it. I thought it was a new franchise to be honest. I guess it didn't sell since nothing else came after it sadly. I would've loved a Gargoyle's Quest 2 or a Gargoyles Quest 64, whatever.Never played the NES/SNES or GnG tho, only Maximo which was a lot of fun too.
>>12547741>Gargoyles Quest 64Imagine flying around a 3D underworld on PSX/N64; like a mix between Mega Man Legends and N64 Castlevania, would have been cool
>>12547649Expanded... with a smaller FOV
>>12547565All NTSC box art throughout the 70s, 80s, and 90s was absolute dogshit compared to Europe and Asia.
>>12547814
>>12547539it's not like any late NES game, take out SMB3 and maybe Kirby just for its graphics and it's the best of them. Gameplay, level design and loop are extraordinaire. The somber story and tone are quite welcomed also for a NES titleplayed the GB game on SuperGB long time ago and I remember it to be as engaging as the NES oneDemon's Crest... I love everything about it, it has high production values, but doesn't leave me wanting for more really
>>12547539The RPG overworld+side scrolling action is an interesting design choice.
>>12547565At least the ad gave us the reaction pic
>>12547882
>>12547868Fuck that overworld bridge level with the long jump though
>>12547725We did, trannybot
>>12547814The NA art has soul that speaks to the common man at the time while the shit at the top looks like soulless corporate clipart.
>>12547868>played the GB game on SuperGB long time ago and I remember it to be as engaging as the NES onedo the GB versions have any realc SGB support?
>>12548909Nope
>>12547882>>12547883>he's green instead of red because the Game Boy screen was greenholy shit
>>12549808Wait till you hear about Kirby being white because thte screen is green
Who is your favorite Gargoyle's Quest II regular enemy (i.e. non-bosses)? I remember in the jungle level there was this flying enemy that followed you and I believe it would respawn quickly (or maybe there were just a lot of them). Always found that part of the game really exciting for some reason.
