Did any one here ever own or know any one that had a Neo Geo? I only knew of its existence because it had a category on GameFAQs. Never saw one in real life back then.

Sure thing.
>>
I never knew anyone with a Saturn, much less a NeoGeo.
>>
My dad's friend Dominic had one, he was in the mob

Makes sense as you would need mafia or cartel connections to afford one.
>>

That's definitely a guy.

Oh yeah, Bridget needs to be in the rotation.

What?

No.
Only knew a guy with a Neo Geo CD but in the 2000s, and it didn't work

Fuck I'm old.
No, I never saw one in real life either, and I also only knew it existed because of GameFAQs and only because of GameFAQs. I don't remember even seeing it as a category on ROM sites back in the day.

you probably did, only it will have been listed under the arcade section, neo-geo is mainly known as an arcade platform. the home neo-geo system is technically the same hardware, though i don't believe there's any reason to use the home console version (AES) roms over the arcade version (MVS) roms

Yes, I knew a fellow who owned a Neo Geo MVS cabinet around 2010.
>>
Anyone who says "I never heard of a Neo Geo in the 90s" is telling you they were either a filthy casual who never opened a game magazine in their life, or an actual moron who just flipped past all the Neo advertisements without a single neuron activating in their brains.

Really? You might have without realizing it. Did you ever see an arcade cabinet with Bust a Move or Metal Slug while you were out? Then you've seen a Neo Geo MVS. Those were everywhere.

I never knew anyone who owned the AES though. Personally, I have a Neo Geo CD now, but never owned it back in the day.
>>
>>12548186
Definitely never knew anyone that owned one, but we had a local video store that offered rentals. I also saw it at Toys R Us.
>>
>>12548553
Even if you lived in a larger city, it’s not like you could just walk into the local Target and find the AES and a bunch of games in stock. You either had to go to specialty retailers or mail order it.

You obviously knew OP was talking about the AES, so what was the point of the first part of your post?
