Animaniacs is so comfy, I play it every few years. Robocop vs Terminator is also very good. Nice and simple shooter. I find a lot of the 6th gen licensed games to be pretty fun too, but there are some shitty ones as well.

Hey buddy, try Predator 2 and Demolition Man for Sega Genesis. Then after those play Dick Tracy on Genesis and enjoy an absolute masterpiece.

Because many of these licensed games were made by the top tier developers in the world at the time. Capcom, Konami, Irem, Hudson, Taito... All these juggernauts making licensed games for western cartoons in the late 80s and early 90s.
Things changed somewhere in the mid 90s but in that brief timeframe before that, licensed games meant good news

Licensed games are awesome, especially with Game Genie or Game Shark codes applied onto them. Such as Wolverine Adamantium Rage for example, that game is hard as fuck but the soundtrack is so good, I had to use cheats to enjoy it.

Gargoyles was actually made internally by Disney Interactive. Disney learned how to make their own Genesis/ MD games from Dave Perry and Virgin Interactive. People at Disney picked up a license for the tUME editor (same one used in Aladdin and almost all pf the Virgin interactive games) and used the digicell technique to make Maui Mallard for the Genesis. Nintendo ported that one to the SNES using Eurocom. I think Gargoyles was the second game Disney Interactive made after Maui Mallard. Maybe it was Disney Interrogatives last 16-bit game? The Genesis/ MD is quite good at doing cartoon style animation with the way it builds non-uniform sprite. Disney made good use of the Genesis's tile/ animation system.

I also used Game Genie to fuck around in Adamantium Rage. The game isn't great compared to X-Men 2 Clone Wars, or even the first Genesis game, but it's okay.
