Hello /vr/, for emulating retro consoles on a hacked Wii, do you recommend the stand alone emulators like fceux, mgba, snes9x or genesis plus gx or the Retroarch cores from the Hexaeco build?I'm using a CRT with component btw.
>>12548505I've found RA on the Wii to be super unstable, but maybe it's more usable now. I think the individual emulators are part of the "wii homebrew experience" and they are pretty solid imho
>>12548505Back when I used a Wii the standalone emulators easily supported 240p for CRTs. I’d recommend them over RA just for that
>>12548523>>12548614Thanks for the replies, I'll stick with the stand-alone emulators in that case.
I prefer stand alone emulators with the only exception being 32X on RA because no other emulators support it, I think it does support 240p but tbf I just use it for knuckles chaotix

>>12548813I use the FBA RA cores on my Wii, there's slowdown in some games but it is playable.
>>12548505Standalone where available. They just work and the lightgun support is perfect, and getting essentially perfect output compared to real hardware is a lot easier than in RA.RA for the rest. It has a few cores not available elsewhere so it's not completely useless. Also Mednafen for Virtual Boy games. It's been a while since I checked so I dunno if it's included in RA or not now, but every VB game runs great in Mednafen.
Stupid question but do any of the GB/GBC emulators for the have the option to enable a dot matrix filter/shader?
>>12550553What a dumb question. Just pretend you're playing on a super gameboy.
>>12550553You might be able to in RA. Not sure if it let's you on Wii, but if it does just go to Settings > Video > Video Filter instead of going through the Shader menus. There should be some dot matrix and GameBoy filters in there.
