Why are Nintendo games so expensive?
>>12549828Supply and Demand, people actually want nintendo games
Brainwashing, same with used Apple products
>>12549831The fuck?
Everyone wants old pokemon, everyone bought it back then and no one is willing to sell their copies without a huge price
>>12549828Nintendo *games* are not expensive.Certain old pieces of plastic are expensive.
>>12549828Consumer cult. Same as apple.Brand loyalty can be exploited in such a way that the followers exhibit behavior indistinguishable from belonging to a religious cult. That same sense of fanatical devotion, of sacrificing their own financial well being to demonstrate their loyalty, and a hightened "us vs them" response to rivals or critics.
>>12549857What's the confusion retard
>>12549837It's actually a microcosm of the bigger brainwashing which is video games and that's another microcosm of capitalism. It doesn't matter in the end. Stop trying to act like you're above it all, you're likely not.
>>12549897I think it's like 80% blind brand loyalty and "nintendo=games" being the public consciousnessI will give nintendo some credit though, since their old products always had a consistent toylike aesthetic that makes the products feel more collectible
Pokémon fans value Pokémon that fucking much. I saw a guy buy Black 2 for 200 dollars and said it was a steal. These people really love that shit. Same with all Nintendo franchises. To me, a game is a just a game. To then, it's like a piece of their childhood in cartridge form.
>>12549828>hidden classics with low print runs are expensiveWho would've guessed?
>>12550004>nintendo>hidden classics>low print runs?
>>12550004Its weird pokemon games have any value at all. In a normal world it would be a $10 game due to how common it is compared to all other GBA games.
>>12549828There are no games like Nintendo games.
They certainly get bootlegged a lot (especially when it comes to Pokemon games).
>>12550004>pokemon>low print runsUh, no, it's only expensive because high as shit demand and no one is willing to cough up their copy without a high ass price.
>>12549828They exist to be milked. They love spending big money on low quality games just because the market told them it's worth it.
>>pokemonWell. There's your problem.
>>12549912This. Very funny to see people act like only Nintendo fans are cultists while they are also cultists on their own.Internet discussion is so fucking boring. Nothing but midwits.
>>12549828Because manchildren want to show off online that they have the shiny thing
>>12551810WTF?
>>12549939Well I mean, take a generation that grew up in a world where paying $60 for absolute slop is considered normal, where a significant portion of games coming out any given year are remakes and remasters, and where physical copies of games are increasingly seen as limited supply collectibles. How do you tell that person that paying $200 for a retro game is ridiculous? Even for older guys who didn't keep note of the evolution of retro games prices this would seem like a reasonable amount of money to pay for a CIB Pokemon game. In today's world a regular copy of an old game is almost like a collector's edition of a new game.
>>12550004I fear for a world wherein the hardheaded zoomers who have replied to you are the elders. It will be a doomed time indeed.
>>12552208If we're lucky, we'll all be dead by then and if we somehow survive, at least we can regale with how the world was in between trying to hunt some mutated boar for meat.
>>12550025You didn't actually show what this is a list of retard
You can get NES Open Tournament Golf for $20 on eBay right now, not super cheap but hardly expensive. Just switch to golf OP, you don't need all those Pokémon timesinks
Pokemon has proven to be one of the most enduring franchises created in the past 50 years. And that isn't hyperbole. The series has consistently found ways to remain relevant, and people who become fans tend to stay fans in some form or another. Hell, even the fucking cards are arguably as, if not more, culturally hot now as they were during the late 90s/early 2000s, and that's not just among aging, nostalgic millennials and scalpers/investors, even kids eat this shit up. People still stream the old games, and people still want to buy them (and that's not just investment, because even loose cartridges command high prices). I would not be surprised if plenty of Gen Alpha kids dream about saving up enough money to buy a real GameBoy/GBA/GBC/DS and a real copy of whichever old Pokémon game they've fixated on.
>>12553402What do you guys get out of posting AI responsesIs it supposed to be funny
>>12549831>>12549898Because of you, enabling faggots who swallowed the whole ''SUPPLY AND DIIIIMAND'' propaganda bullshit like teh faggot leftitst that you were, speculators spergged the fuck out of that phrase to the point as youtubers and ebay resellers just took it as head start run.You actually bought back that scummy phrase and you geniuenly cause disgust to me because i remember how all scumfucks during the 2010s were using that cope to justify robbery with those fake inflated prices.
>>12553215>mediocre early NES game that its no worth more then 2.5 USD and thats being generous.>PLEASE PAY 4x+ times that price please!>just for the cart by the way>Oh and 50 USD for shipping!JUST. E. MU. LATE!
>>12553460Jesus christ you're fucking stupid.
>>12553459>anyone who actually writes articulately is an aijeets were a mistake
>>12553459that post doesn't look ai-written to me
>>12549828Nintendies love being humiliated by other tendies
>>12553459Gargle my organic nuts, you spider expert.
>>12553575I've been accused of several things for making the occasional effort post, why not also AI?
There's significantly cheaper ways to play these games that people avoid due to muh "authenticity"Well, if you want the authentic experience then you need to pay the jacked up prices for them too.
>>12550025Why would it only be 10 bucks? Pokémon is a mega franchise. Only 2 million copies of Emerald were sold in the USA. There's probably 10 million other people in the USA that wants the games.
>>12550025No because that's not how supply and demand works. The games aren't being produced anymore and theres a huge demand for them. So market dictates it should rise in price. >>12553752This. Theres more people who want it then copies produced.
>>12549828because you get aura and respect for having taste
>>12553402The cards are in trend now because everyone is trying to come up with le ebin quick bitcoin pyramid scheme profits to escape this hellhole world They don't realise earning a couple hundred bucks by hoarding boxes of cards isn't going to change the fact they have to be a slave>Omg Jake Paul bought le charizard!!>Proceeds to become a bag holder by buying cards with the hope to offload onto someone elsePokémon now is either the new cucked soulless crap or manchild greed investments. I grew up with regular Pokémon and only gen 1 + 2 has SOVLThe rest is an ugly product. And now neckbeards want to escape hellish reality by retreating into gen 2 (soul silver) and getting internet Reddit brownie points by posting the cartridge onlineVery sad
>>12553821Soul silver looks cool because of lugia the rest are cringeAnd that's only to other fat neckbeards, this just gives women the ick

Just because you threw some swears in there doesn't fix the email etiquette tone of it.Those first three sentences especially sound like an IGN review. Also, who is watching streams of old Pokémon games. Zoomers don't even have the patience for RTS games, let alone turn based stuff.
>>12549828Because people need to complete their game walls
I sold a ton of my old games to faggots like this and bought a bunch of guns with the moneyWhile these faggots are jerking off to old games, I'm arming myself for the coming apocalypse
>>12549831OH SNAP BACK TO REALITY OH THERE GOES GRAVITY
>>12554127You converted from one type of escapism manchild to another
>>12554130one is for adults, one is for children
>>12554134Apocalypse prepping is for dorks/retards. It is one of the gayest forms of buying masculinity, right next to guys who make having guns their entire personality. You are being sold supplements/junk by a GWOT larper who grew a beard and bought cargo pants.>I may be an ineffective male IRL, and things haven't turned out the way I want but...when the world ends, I'll be the top guy!Very cringe, 99% of those people would be better off buying precious metals exclusively instead of prepping themed garbage. To be fair to them, I understand that the reason for the escapism is because they feel like long term REAL prospects such as retiring well are unreachable, though their consumerism isn't helping.
