Whats your opinion on Game Boy Advance console aesthetic, feel and games? I think the indigo color is awesome, the size is just right not too small nor too big like a switch 2 for example, the pixel graphics are sharp and made for pixel display so they dot have those noisy dither of crt consoles art, the games are the best of 16 bit and 2d ps1 style games with more content and unlockables than the 16 bit games but with just as good gameplay.

I prefer the way the game gear feels in my hands, I remember the gg's A and B buttons being not great, sorta like clicky pieces of candy. I think the PSP (don't think it's retro) had better materials and finish.But the GBA does a damn good job. The triggers are nice, it feels decent but could be bigger. It feels cheap, shit plastics and big gaps between things, but it was cheap so I can forgive it.
Why be assblasted about the GBA of all things?

The original horizontal GBA could've been the greatest handheld ever made. Dead simple, with everything you need and nothing you don't. Super comfortable to hold with its big shoulder buttons, and very easy to repair. The only two caveats that prevent the GBA from clinching the top spot at the pantheon of handhelds are its pitch black reflective screen, and its lackluster third party catalogue comprised mostly of licensed shovelware. Thankfully, Nintendo's commitment to backwards compatibility allow the GBA to borrow the great library of games spanning the two previous generations. I wish Nintendo would take a page out of the PlayDate's book and revive the Gameboy line as a budget alternative to mainstream video game platforms and their tiresome live service fare.
