Now the dust has settled...what did you guys think of Toy Story 1 as a game between the various platforms (being it was basically the same on every platform).
Only played SNES. It's alright, has some difficulty spikes here and there, but it's very much manageable and relatively easyGreat prank for a boomer that has >300ms reaction time and is stubborn as an oxI still prefer Toy Story 2 on PSX, even though that game is baby-tier, it feels more comfyGameboy version is a fucking joke and there's a funny NES bootleg too lmao
I think that pre-rendered crap always looked abysmal. Yes, especially Donkey Kong Country.
>>12551578Rare time the Genesis version was superior, the SNES version is missing some animations and jingles and feels like it was ported from a beta version. Also the Sega-exclusive Daytona-inspired level was pretty good. Disappointed that Toy Story 2 gave the nod to SNES rather than Genesis, which I guess means that the SNES version must've sold better despite releasing later.
>>12551637TS2 was in the fifth generation too so it was an outdated ref
It's definitely best on Genesis. The Gameboy version is pretty admirable given the hardware, it's surprisingly not terrible. Version superiority aside, I think it is a pretty good game. It can be tough at first but once you master every level it's really fun to come back and blast through it. Idk why the Gamehut guy is so ashamed of it in that one video, it's a far better game than pretty much all the other crap Travelers Tales put out.
>>12551578Is the Doomclone level on every version?
>>12551662I believe it is, or at least the console versions, but the layout is different for some reason and it's practically a different level. (I also can't pinpoint the reason, but as a little kid, that level gave me anxiety. Maybe it was the time limit, maybe it was the fact I expected Doom demons to come out around the corner. I hated it.)
Depends
>>12551578I like the snes one since that's what I grew up with. I kind of like that era of western platformers where almost every stage has some new gimmick, like Mickey Mania, Pinocchio, Mr. Bones, EW Jim 1&2
>>12551578Escued
>>12551578There was a PC version?I only knew of those "activity center" discs consisting of a few crappy minigames and snapshots.
>>12551578I've played both Genesis and SNES, and Genesis was the better version. (Likely because it was the base version.) SNES controls worse in the top-down RC stages, and cut out the "Day-toy-na" stage. (The best stage IMO.)Can't comment on the PC and GB versions since I haven't played those, but I know the PC version isn't worth playing because they cut out the Wolfenstein stage, and GB was developed by Tiertex. I shouldn't have to explain why a game developed by Tiertex is bad, even if I haven't played it yet.
>>12551637>Rare time the Genesis version was superiorThis happens quite a few times whenever a Western dev develops on Genesis first. The Lion King is another great example, there's a larger FOV and it doesn't chug during the log section in "Hakunah Matata."
Was fun tho
>>12551662Somehow works worse on snes and pc.
>>12553619>pcYou'd think, but PC doesn't have that stage. (It has "Day-toy-na" though, which was on the Genesis version.)
>>12551637Disney games in general were better on Genesis than SNES. They use to get actual Disney animators to work on them which is why the animation was so smooth on them.
>>12551578Music is still boss
Technological marvel for its time, but as a game it kinda sucked ass. The sprites were way too big and it had Gameboy-tier screen crunch despite being a console game.
>>12551637>Disappointed that Toy Story 2 gave the nod to SNES rather than Genesis, which I guess means that the SNES version must've sold betterNintendo was much more well known in the west than Sega.
>>12554745If it makes anon feel any better, "Runaway Brain" had Mickey play a Snow White fighter on the Genesis.
