I played Gotcha Force for the Gamecube and i have to say, this is one of the most dissapointing games i have played in recent times.Gotcha Force is like a Custom Robo and Virtual On hybrid, which on paper sounds great and to be fair, it does play decently but the main issue is how devoid of anything else this game is. The game teases you at the start with a nice animated intro but the plot and characters are pretty much non existant, which is a shame because the designs are nice and colorful but every character is just the most simplistic shonen shit imaginable. Now what about the game, like i said, the game is a mixture of Custom Robo with Virtual On and on that aspect the combat is fun and decent, the main problem is, that's the whole game. To conceptualize it, think you're playing Virtual on, but you only get up to like stage 4 and then it goes back to 1 and you have to repeat that for like 15 hours, battling the same enemies on the same stages, with nothing else in between beside 1 or 2 generic dialogue lines by one of the characters, you finish your fight and then you pick the next one in a menu. There is no exploration, no characters development bits, absolutly nothing but fighting, which again, is fun but only for like 30 minutes before the monotony of all really starts to hit.For curiopsity i checked what does the internet thinks about this game and for some reason everyone loves it, which makes me think that maybe a video essay made people bandwagon behind this game or maybe it's just nintendo cultist praising every game, i don't know. But you, have you played Gotcha Force? Thanks for reading my blog

Nobody is talking about the game this board fucking sucks, kek
It's a toy collecting and fighting game. The fact it has basically no story is a good thing. Storyshit ruins video games.
I played this one because my friend brought it over like a decade ago. we probably played it for like an hour or two straight pretty fun. it’s probably one of those games that’s more fun against a friend then it is by yourself.

>>12551786It feels incomplete. It has nothing to keep you engaged, the actual fighting is so simplistic and easy there's never a need to push yourself and it sorely needed a little extra to keep it interesting. There's one guy that gets extremely defensive about the game here. I think it's loved by the 5 other people on the internet who have played it because it's a gamecube exclusive that's pretty niche, it's overly accessible and has pretty anime graphics.
>>12551786not much to say. It's undercooked. The gameplay is fine, maybe even good depending on what you think of some of the more obscure underlying mechanics, but if we're ignoring pvp stuff or pounding bots to figure out what works then there just isn't a whole lot to the game. Pretty much everything needs to be expanded besides the number of borgs (though they do need some rebalancing). The "missions" are repetitive and need some kind of objective variety, and the AI is also really bad even on the higher number runs outside of a handful of battles. This is the kind of game that needs a more ambitious sequel or a decomp and for modders to patch it up but it's too niche
