People like to bitch about the bloom effect in the HD mod, and while it is occasionally distracting, I think the improved lighting overall more than makes up for it.

Yeah, the gif surprised me because I didn't think Wind Waker had dynamic lighting like that, and I guess the original didn't. It's definitely really nice, and if the decomp is completed and leads to a PC port that'd be one thing that'd make me interested in it over just emulating.

I'm not saying I like the bloom, just that the dynamic lighting is nice and that I hadn't realised those were part of the remake. There's other stuff beyond the bloom that I hadn't noticed before, like shadows from clouds, but those I'm more skeptical of since the sharp shadows and vibrant colours seem essential to how the game looked originally. Soft shadows and bloom both muddy things instead, like messing up the pure blue of the sea.

It seems like there are ways to change/disable bloom in the remaster if you emulate it on Cemu. Seems to be based on graphic packs, so I dunno how it'd be modified, or what other effects there are that might be weird.
